@FarabaughFB I think re-structuring Pat would be crummy. He wasn’t used correctly last season so his production was a causality to that. Asking him to restructure after he’s been a team player through it all wouldn’t feel right

There's not many obvious restructure candidates the Steelers would want to touch this offseason, and I think it's something they don't really love doing...
But if they did imagine Highsmith (as DB said) and Freiermuth (could free $5.2 million) would be the two names.

The Steelers have several rookie contract extension candidates that they’ll look to take care of before the regular season. In order to do that, they’ll need to restructure at least one deal, I think. They should start with Highsmith ($6.64M in savings). Where things get dicey are if they touch other contracts (specifically Watt).

As this continues to unfold, the Steelers are showing they really like Spencer Anderson.
The Steelers have had urgency to fill other needs all offseason, which says something to me.
He’ll almost certainly at least have a chance to win the starting LG job.

@ChrisDokish Not saying it can’t or won’t happen but I’d be surprised. Especially because Rooney said in his interview he doesn’t view the HC change as a rebuild situation and we already have a lot of draft stock and cap space. If anything, I’d expect some restructures

If Heyward wants to retire, and Watt wants to be traded, I’d be okay with that. Loved what both did on the field, but if the Steelers go full reset there’s something very exciting about that.

@SteelersNetwork In my opinion he did mostly everything he could without jeopardizing any of our future picks. Those 12 picks this year are way more valuable than a #2 WR trade this season. We had a solid roster (minus a second receiver) at the start of the season

@Steelersdepot For our division, hire a defensive mind HC and bring in a good OC. It would also make the transition easier because we already have a good defense and the offense needs to improve anyway so it would be a good fit

@BaddestBearJew Flores to me is the fairy tale story. Leaves Miami with nowhere to go and Tomlin gives him a temporary home. Goes off to be a DC with the Vikings (does well), then potentially comes back to Pit as a HC to take over for Mike T, which is how Tomlin came in (a DC from the Vikings)

@rach_elizabethh I don’t think people realize that we aren’t really in a traditional “rebuild”. We have a lot of cap space and 12 draft picks this year with an almost complete defense. We have a lot of young guys too. We don’t have a lot of holes to fill compared to the capital we have
