too much fun at the beach. I use 3 techniques to make voxel items smoothish: 1) estimate normals based on neighbors 2) smooth estimated normals based on more neighbors 3) screen space normal smoothing at each pixel (toggled in the last few seconds here) every face of a voxel is shaded the same color, so top looks no different than side #ボクセル #インディーゲーム

@TheMediaMines imdb.com/title/tt386376… This was directed by Saul Blinkoff and Elliot M. Bour, two Disney animators from the 90s era. Both are also known for big projects individually: Blinkoff directed Kronk's New Groove, and Bour directed Elena of Avalor.

I thought that this was a legit movie trailer at first and wondered who animated it. But it turned out to be a commercial but I'm still wondering who animated it.

They modeled everything flat and then turned it into a sphere, this is insane

“They’re supposed to be realistic like the original puppets” The puppets were never meant to be realistic. Star Fox was Miyamoto’s answer to popular English puppet shows like Thunderbirds. Committing to the puppet aesthetic would have been a much better choice.
