Setanta Sports once took the bold step of taking on Sky’s football broadcasting, ending its Premier League monopoly in 2006 by securing the rights to 46 live matches. They also branched out into SPL football as well as rugby, boxing and horse racing. Setanta Sports News followed and launched in 2007 as a direct rival to Sky Sports News but it struggled to gain viewers. All this came at a cost. Crippled by debt, Setanta missed a £10 million Premier League payment and its UK operation collapsed almost overnight in June 2009, leaving more than 200 people out of work. However, the Irish arm survived and later rebranded as Eir Sport, while Premier Sports emerged from the fallout. Anyone else remember Setanta Sports?

Rumors are circulating in the boxing world, that Queensberry is in financial trouble without a continued business relationship with Sela and TKO. The loss of those relationships has influenced Queensberry's threat to sue Sela and TKO. Rumors indicate that their announcement to the media of legal action was timed before their Wardley v Dubois press conference, which took place today, for an event which is struggling to sell tickets. Turki Alalshikh and Sela were made aware that the rumors of litigation were leaked from Queensberry and this has created an unrepairable rift, due to Queensberry's cordial communications in the open and being volatile behind the scenes.
