@Modena_FC_En @CittadellaUSA @HarriLaine @PEFIORENTINA We were talking about two completely different things 😅🤣
English

@PEFIORENTINA @CittadellaUSA @lucamoletta @HarriLaine Cittadella Vis Modena, not Cittadella.
They're a small Eccellenza team who play just outside of Modena.
Thank you though!!
English

@CittadellaUSA @Modena_FC_En @lucamoletta @HarriLaine Stadio Piercesare Tombolato lovely Stadio One of the best playing surfaces in the whole of Italy
Walled City is well worth a visit
DM me if you want a contact there
English

@lucamoletta @CittadellaUSA @HarriLaine @PEFIORENTINA This is a different Cittadella but that does look good!
Cittadella Vis Modena, the Eccellenza team who play in San Damaso in Modena.
English

@CittadellaUSA @Modena_FC_En @HarriLaine @PEFIORENTINA If you are planning to go to watch a game in Cittadella, I would definitely recommend you to arrive some hours before kick off, so you can also visit the medieval walled town of Cittadella
English

@PEFIORENTINA @CCalcistica Thanks Peter. I understand a lot more now!
English

@Modena_FC_En @CCalcistica Serie D I assume will be like any lower league in the English system will pay players on a match by match basis Higher amounts for the better players However when a club like Palermo ends up in D they will remain professional throughout that season especially with crowds upto 30k
English

@CCalcistica There are 100 clubs down to Serie C and 92 clubs down to League Two (4th level). It makes sense that both countries have a split there.
English

@Modena_FC_En The big split in Italy is clearly at the Serie C/D level.
I think players can technically be fully amateur as high as Serie D (i.e. entirely unpaid) but that is rare. In fact, you'll get paid players all the way down to the bottom tier (especially centre-forwards!)
English

@CCalcistica You've been so helpful! I really appreciate it. I understand a lot more now.
English

@Modena_FC_En "The Athlete is free to exercise any other working activities (under standard or non-standard employment arrangements) as may be compatible with these terms of engagement provided they are not in conflict with the Club's interests or the league regulations."
English

@CCalcistica The main splits are at level 5 and level 11. Level 5 starts what we call "non-league" but clubs can be full time if they want and some get very big crowds. Level 11 starts "county amateur" and clubs at that level usually don't charge for admission, don't have floodlights, etc...
English

@CCalcistica In England semi-professional means they get paid for playing football but will have another job. There's no real official split in the leagues between professional / semi-professional / amateur.
English

@DrewStuds Thank you! That's really useful and makes a lot of sense!
English

@Modena_FC_En Even though they’re part of the same league.
They might pay some players a fixed monthly wage, and others based on points earned or other bonuses plus expenses etc
English

@CCalcistica Thank you! That's really useful and makes a lot of sense!
English

@Modena_FC_En Players on non-professional contracts are treated more favourably for tax purposes, which is why you see many established players dropping down.
It also makes it cheaper for a Serie D club to contract a player than a Serie C club.
