Smith High School, a beacon of education and community spirit in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This isn't just any high school; it's a living testament to the legacy of an extraordinary individual, Dr. Ezekiel Ezra Smith. Dr. Smith was not only an educator but a visionary leader whose contributions have left an indelible mark on education and civil rights. Born into slavery in 1852, he rose through adversity to become a prominent figure, dedicating his life to the advancement of African American education and empowerment. As a principal, and later, the president of Fayetteville State University, Dr. Smith was at the forefront of educational reform. Visiting E.E. The benefit of campaigning statewide is experiencing the culture, patronizing businesses, meeting new people and enjoying the scenery. We definitely had to have lunch at Mertz! We visited Charlotte , NC — the Queen City renowned not just for its vibrant skyline but also for its deep-rooted historical significance. Did you know Charlotte is home to the first gold rush in America? Before California, it was here, in 1799, where the first substantial gold nugget was discovered (actually in Cabarrus county which made people flock to Charlotte) shaping this city’s pioneering spirit.
