Photo Dump. Look at the Lego wall and you’ll see that this little friend turned 2-D Legos into 3-D! A working Minecraft rocket with sticky pistons and redstone. Aaand I wore the same shirt as my boss so there’s that.

When half the class is at orchestra, we change things up a bit. Kids followed their passions, did fall escape games in pairs, created 3-D designs, or participated in a ‘winner stays on’ Connect Four tournament.

@DrHarrisonPVSD @Tynker We do K-1. Very basic. The other Tynker has 3 modules and you can sign up through Google and create classes. We use that 2-5 for a couple lessons.

@Mr_Smith_Tech @Tynker Ooooh. This looks cool. Do the kids needs the coaching session? What age do you think interest in this fizzles out?

Kindergarten using @tynker jr. to enter in the world of block coding. Listen to the excitement as they put together characters for their Ocean Odyssey.

@DrHarrisonPVSD @Tynker No coaching other than explaining how to do the puzzles, then when the first couple kids get to the mazes we go over some examples. Free app, lets you do a couple modules for free.

Third grade using @codeorg to brush up on programming and sequencing. The big difference between this year and last is that students must turn left and right instead of just follow arrows. @CSforALL

We’ve met this friend before. He’s playing around command prompts, a text based interface to execute commands. He found some funny ones. Reminds me of when I was in 5th grade with a TRS-80 and Commodore64. Where did you learn it? YouTube, of course.

2nd graders exploring modules and the Workshop in @gotynker. Playing around in the tutorials and adding changes. What’s a pixel? What does next costume mean? How do I change the colors?

2nd Grade using @gotynker for a very visual and step-by-step, basics of block coding. We used our Google accounts to sign in.

5th grade starting @codeorg modules. Learning about sprites, how to change their size, location, and ways to interact. #stem #coding

Using @sciencemuseum’s Launchball Game to work thru the Engineering Process in CompSci. #STEM

Oh nothing, just importing 797 photos of our WBS families’ summer adventures. These pictures will welcome students and play on our media TV for the first few weeks of school.
