Research, lectures, interviews, cases, multidisc clinic, committee participation….. everything needs to be valued and credit given for the time commitment.

The blessing of being at an institution that does NOT have RVU targets for surgeons has several advantages 1- Only taking the patient that definitely needs surgery to OR 2- No need to rush any operation (pt advantage) 3- Taking the time needed to teach @MayoClinicSurg 🩵

Will be a bit of a devils advocate here:the issue with that is often times on the other hand you don’t have any good measure for productivity, which in turns leads to many surgeons just enjoying the ride while a select few do the work. @ElieJarrougeMD Cost is a big issue here too. UPFs in the U.S are much cheaper than whole organic foods.

There is a growing awareness of the harmful chemicals in food in the U.S., and I fully support removing them. However, the real question is why Americans are primarily consuming ultra-processed, chemical-laden foods. If we shift to eating real, whole, organic foods, most of these problems will disappear.
