@HenryPryor The Bank of England is being pretty definite in setting its interest rates. It's not rocket science to conclude that these actions will have an impact on the housing market, regardless of whether homeowners and estate agents try to deny it or not.

Clients exchanged contracts on 3 properties last week. There will be some deals that will have fallen over (30% of agreed deals do anyway) but it feels far too early to be this definite or this pessimistic. telegraph.co.uk/personal-banki…

@russellquirk The crisis has a lot more to do with what the banks are doing with interest rates, and they don't seem close to dropping their rates anytime soon. Buyers simply don't have the same buying power they had six months ago.

@HAIGHS_ The pound recovered slightly, but is still historically low. Mortgage rates are still high and inflation is still going up.

They couldn’t sell this house in Exeter at £550,000 (March), so they INCREASED the price to £595,000 (April). Still no takers. So they took it off the market for a few days then today put it up for sale at £650,000… I SO want to see this bubble popped. rightmove.co.uk/properties/856…
