Alright I've been awol for a long while. Life has been busy, aaand instead of reviewing things like I'm supposed to, I decided to try writing a LitRPG. It might suck, it might be good, but whatever it ends up being I had a fun writing my first book! royalroad.com/fiction/116860…

@boekelley You can count me among the people who stopped watching after the season 1 finale. I hear Season 3 was much better but I was done after season 1. The angsty warder scene was what really ruined it for me. Lan, the epitome of Stoicism, crying and rending his shirt did me in.

🪦 Wheel of Time on prime 🪦 I'm disappointed the show got cancelled but I'm not surprised. The cast in my opinion was fantastic and I feel bad they won't be able to see it through. This adaptation failed for one reason and one reason alone: Rafe Judkins Rafe didn't give us Jordans WoT instead what we saw on screen was Rafe's garbage rewrite. Starting with season 1 he alienated the fandom by twisting the story to fit his imagination versus that of Jordan's. Rafe had everything at his disposal to make a killer adaptation. He had access to both Brandon Sanderson and Harriet McDougal. I truly believe if he'd only set his ego aside and listen to their guidance, the end result would not be what it is today. While season 3 was a vast improvement over season 1, it still didn't do the series Justice and it still continued to reek of Rafes vision for what WoT should have been in his eyes instead of Jordan's writing. I firmly believe if HBO had picked up the series and if they had a proper showrunner this could have been huge. Hell it could have been bigger than game of thrones. Maybe someday some studio will give it a second shot and we'll finally get the adaptation fans truly deserve.

@JoeBerne1 I like female narrators because they’re easier for me to understand while I’m in a loud environment with my tractor. I find deeper male voices are the toughest.

I probably need a new narrator for the Hybrid Helix. Part of me wants a female Indian voice. Thoughts? Would that be too jarring? Since it's close third person POV with a male MC?

@mattdinniman I first listened to book 1 in February. By April I’d finished all 6 books out. My wife started listening. She’s now listened 3X! I now have a FB messenger group of friends 8 peeps strong who she has convinced to read or listen as well. Well played…
