No one leaves home expecting tragedy. Yet every long weekend, lives are forever changed by preventable collisions caused by decisions made behind the wheel: speeding, impairment and distraction.
With larger volumes of travellers eager to get to their vacation destinations, road users need to look out for one another. #BuckleUp, #SlowDown and #DriveSafe.
#OPP officers will be out across the province to ensure all drivers are operating responsibly.
See you on the road 🚔

The #OPP North West Region is always honoured to support events that bring our communities closer together, and this year’s Ice Road Challenge to Pikangikum truly embodied that spirit. We were inspired by the perseverance and determination of the cyclists and team members who made the journey possible. We extend our deepest gratitude to the community in Pikangikum for their warm hospitality and incredible support. The spirit, energy and heart behind this event reminded us all of the power of coming together to uplift and encourage one another. ^kr
