Stella Creasy is so funny. Last year, she posted a video comparing me and Matt Kennard to Andrew Tate because we pointed out that her partner is the former director of Labour Friends of Israel.
Zack Polanski@ZackPolanski

Very bizarre that the @guardian have allowed Stella Creasy to try and link me with Tommy Robinson in her article today. Full exchange - where Stella says we need to strengthen our relationship with Trumps US is linked below. If anyone is being abusive here - it's not me!

Exactly. He threatens things that are evil to degree 10, and then when he actually does things that are evil only to some lesser degree, the cult cries "See? Art of the deal!" ignoring the fact that the Overton window has still been moved in the direction of greater evil.
Brandan P. Buck@brandan_buck

@PhilipDBunn "Nuking Iran" is an absurd framing meant to rhetorically protect the president. He could carry out his threat to systematically bomb Iran's infrastructure (and ensure Iran's response on the GCC and Israel), and his supporters will say: "See, he didn't NUKE Iran, you panican!"

Many left-liberals and the Israel faction of MAGA unite to pretend that Tucker's war opposition is new. It's blatantly false. He's been saying this for years. In 2020, he was one of the only people on TV - not Fox, but TV - who condemned Trump for assassinating Gen. Solemein.

this is insane. A day after their stealth edit removal of an "Iranian source" telling them that they want Iran to be "levelled" and nuked, the BBC has added a note admitting they removed it, and that the quote was fabricated. But they still kept the "source" in the piece. Ghoncheh Habibiazad is their Senior Reporter on Iran, and needs to be fired immediately for having fabricated a quote to justify and launder the nuking of Iran right as Trump is threatening it. Raffi Berg, who is the editor of their Middle-East coverage and approved this fabrication also needs to be fired. Minimal journalistic standards and ethics demand this.

holy shit, the BBC just edited the passage from their anonymous "Iranian source" and removed the begging for being left without electricity, water and being nuked to death. So they admitted to fabricating the quote without any formal correction. This is utterly insane

Let the record reflect that not one former living president denounced Trump’s genocidal pledge to destroy an entire civilization Like Obama, they’re inconsequential moral cowards who worry in the back of their minds about being held accountable for their own war crimes

Congratulations to @CoachDustyMay, Elliot Cadeau, and @UMichBBall on winning their first title since 1989! This team dominated the tournament from start to finish. Well deserved. Go Blue!

@Aella_Girl My family is Catholic on both sides. I can't remember any occasion, solemn or celebratory, that was used by family members to proselytize in the face of joy or grief. That seems heretical.

at my mom's funeral, we only had time for a few people to get up to speak. One of them declined standing at the podium and instead stood directly in front of me (and my sisters, who are not religious). She then, into the mic, beseeched us to come to Christ, how mom would have wanted this, etc. Then the next person who came up also declined the podium, stood in front of us, holding the mic, and talked about how the only thing she loved more than her girls was jesus and she of course only wants one thing for us. Then we were out of time, and the pastor went up, and he closed by looking at us was like "If your mom could come back she'd be trying to tell you that it's all real." fuck christianity man. It's a mind parasite that destroys actual connection and grief between people and replaces it with the taxidermied corpse of an ancient cult leader

Look, I have been hysterical against this war since the beginning and I have said it would be a disaster for the US and even more for the rest of the world, but even I don't think it's possible that it will end with such a humiliation for the US. I really wish it was over to be honest, because frankly ships having to pay a toll to Iran to cross Hormuz would be a small price to pay to avoid a global economic meltdown and I don't care if the US is humiliated, but I don't see how it could hold.

It was not just Trump who revealed himself yesterday. The total silence from @Keir_Starmer and his apology for a cabinet in the face of Trump's genocidal threat to Iran, even as they took immediate concrete action to ban Kanye West/Ye, reveals deep and profoundly troubling double standards. As we saw repeatedly with Gaza, the mass slaughter of Muslims really doesn't bother to our government; now even the threat of complete civilisational erasure is not worth a passing comment. Starmer just shrugged and let the B-52s take off with all their bombs primed and ready to drop on civilian targets. A total and irredeemable disgrace.
Mark Seddon@MarkSeddon1962

You come to the reluctant and sad conclusion that even a threat to wipe out a civilisation by an unhinged US President is still not enough to elicit any serious push back from the Prime Minister or his Cabinet. What have we become? theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

Here we go again, with the cult’s usual two-step: 1. Trump’s doing X would be a great idea, actually!, but also 2. What an idiot you are for thinking he’d ever do X! It’s “Heads I win, tails you lose” sophistry. Whatever happens is always said to have been the goal all along.
