Northside Debate has opened the 22-23 season with a TOC bid at the Niles Invitational. Kaylan and Shrutik received a bye as the 2 seed, and thanks to 10 seed Katharine/Kinsey picking up on a 2-1 in partials will head straight to semis tomorrow. Nice job juniors!

Concluding a great season, sophomores Shrutik De and Jonah Halloran took home the 2022 Chicago Debate League JV city title tonight! It's our 9th city title across all divisions in our program's 17 years of existence. Proud of our hard working younguns after another great year.

A year after winning our first varsity state championship, NCP sophomores Kiana Pan and Claire Shank are your 2022 Illinois JV state champions, our first JV state title victory! Kiana was 4th overall speaker and Claire 6th.

A delayed shout out to sophomores Kaylan and Jonah, who despite dropping in octas at Dowling last night became the first NCP sophomores to debate in a TOC bid round in program history. The future is bright.

Justin and Kaylan drop 3-0 to Taipei American and finish as Glenbrooks JV finalists, good run for the sophomores. Now time for Thanksgiving break!

We know, we've been gone for awhile. But we are back to shout out Kiana/Claire, winners of the RCC T2 varsity division, and Grant/Sinan, who took home the novice trophy at their first HS tourney this weekend. Fellow novices Ebun/Jacob made quarters at their 1st tourney as well!

Better late than never. Your 2021 IHSA varsity state champs, varsity city champs, and novice state semifinalists/city finalists. We're even more proud that our seniors are headed to Harvard, MIT (x2), Northwestern, Illinois, Fordham, UChicago, and Kansas (for debate) next year.

Sadly, DS' run comes to an end on a 2-1 in octas. We are so proud of Kyujin and Mia, who ended their careers in a round farther than all but four other @ChicagoDebates teams have achieved. This is NCP debate, signing off after wild (and wildly successful) remote year.

RS ends their excellent careers on. 3-0 loss in the runoff round. Meanwhile, Kyujin and Mia pick up 2-1 and are locked aff in the AM vs @GBSDebate in our first ever appearance on Monday at the TOC.

Both teams finish at 5 and are headed to the runoff round. DS is aff vs North Broward GG, panel of Meyers-Levy/Skoulikaris/Weideman. RS is neg vs SLC West, panel of Fridman/Stras/Vergho.

As we head into round 7, DS (5) will negate against @GBSDebate for seeding in elims. RS (4) will negate against @NewTrierDebate in the break round.

After day 1 and 4 rounds at the TOC, both DS (3) and RS (2) are playing to break tomorrow

Mia/Kyujin (DS) and Matt/Samir (RS) are both in action at the TOC this weekend (although we will be missing the usual abject chaos of Lexington this remote year). Updates to come.

Katharine and Regina come up just shy in finals, but a great tournament for Northside varsity and novices alike and congrats to Whitney Young on their novice city title. We'll be back one last time next weekend for the TOC.

Both varsity teams pick up and Matt, Mia, Ben, Annie split the 2021 Chicago varsity city championship, our first since 2015. Meanwhile, Katharine and Regina will negate against Whitney in novice city finals.

Sunday cities update: In varsity, Matt/Mia and Ben/Annie will both debate teams from @Paytondeb8 for a shot at finals. In novice, Katharine/Regina walk over Jonah/Shrutik to finals. They await the winner of the semis debate between Justin/Kaylan and Whitney Young.
