It's the same reason we resisted paying Osimhen his wage demand. You can't change your structure because of one player. A player doesn't make a team. If you allow a player to dictate a club's structure, the club will ultimately lose. He will become a reference to be used by every agent. It just doesn't worth it. If you want to play for Chelsea and find yourself within the wage structure, you are welcome, if you don't, go elsewhere and get the pay. The club will move on. Always!
