Why doesn’t Trump ask his pet “Board of Peace” to help with the Strait of Hormuz?

Listen up, all you fans of sugarcoated history. Back in 1786, while the ink on the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia was still fresh and the Founding Fathers were arguing about lofty ideals, reality was already hammering hard. Do you know what the first real “international exchange of experience” looked like for the young United States? Two future presidents — Thomas Jefferson and John Adams — showed up in London to meet the ambassador of Tripoli, a certain Sidi Haji Abdrahaman. They had a simple, almost naïve question: “Tell us, why are your corsairs attacking our ships in the Mediterranean? We haven’t done anything to you. We’re a new nation, all about freedom and all that. Why are you chaining our sailors and selling them into slavery?” Abdrahaman’s reply — which Jefferson later recorded in a dry, bureaucratic report to John Jay on March 28, 1786 — was like a cold shower of fanaticism and steel. The ambassador calmly explained how the world worked: “All of this is based on the laws of our Prophet. In our Qur’an it is written that all nations who do not recognize our authority are sinners. It is our right and our duty to wage war against them wherever they can be found, and to enslave all those we can capture. And any Muslim who falls in battle is guaranteed paradise.” No politics. No economics. No “territorial disputes.” Just a blunt reality: either you pay tribute (jizya), or your guts get wrapped around a mast — because that’s what their book says. At the time, America was poor as dirt. It had no navy to protect its merchant ships. The Barbary pirates from Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli had been squeezing Europe for decades, demanding millions for “safe passage.” And when Jefferson and Adams tried to negotiate, they were given a price: 30,000 guineas for the “authorities,” plus another 3,000 personally for the ambassador — just to start. At that moment, Jefferson understood: either we keep paying for the right to breathe, or we need guns. That stinking room in London, where they were confronted with raw religious fanaticism, became the starting point for the creation of the U.S. Navy. America’s first overseas war was not about democracy. It was about not being sold into slavery under cries of paradise. A dirty, bloody truth that doesn’t fit neatly into polite textbooks. Think about that.

Since the start of the war with Iran, very strange things have been happening. First, we see almost no active diplomatic efforts against Israel and the United States. No emergency meetings condemning Israel and the U.S. (there were only attempts to condemn Iran for shelling, and a UAE resolution on the use of force against Iran, which was blocked by Russia, China, and France). No UN reports about a “genocide” of the Iranian leadership. Even the now-familiar accusations of violating international law are being voiced in a whisper. Second, there are no mass anti-Israel protests in European cities with chants like “From the Caspian to the sea, ayatollahs should be free.” At Columbia University, no one is staging hunger strikes or setting up tent camps. Greta is not sailing at the head of a flotilla past the Houthis toward the blockaded Bandar Abbas. An eloquent silence. So, was this always possible? Why these anomalies? It seems there are several reasons. The war with Iran has exposed the true underlying motives of anti-Israel activists and movements in the West. Iran, having suffered heavy blows and significant financial losses, is now spending its remaining resources on weapons and reconstruction. There is no money left for “useful idiots” or agents. It’s simply a matter of priorities — hence the absence of mass rallies. Another sponsor of such activities — Qatar — has itself taken a hit and is in a state of cognitive dissonance. Other Arab states have chosen their side and are trying to act behind the scenes against Iran. Turkey was advised from the very beginning not to get involved, and that’s exactly what it is doing. For this, Trump even praised Erdoğan. Protests in the U.S. against the war and high prices don’t count — those are internal American disputes. And suddenly it turns out that in the West, the “people” — the regular activists — don’t rise up for free. And everyone else simply doesn’t care.

Trump never intended to support Ukraine, but for a long time he did not dare to say it out loud. Likewise, he has always gravitated toward Putin — partly out of envy for his absolute, election-free power, and partly out of a desire to finally expand his business dealings with him. This double “not daring” kept turning U.S. foreign policy into a series of illogical steps. The fact that these hidden impulses would eventually surface was only a matter of time. And that moment has now come. Having unleashed chaotic violence in the Persian Gulf without any real plan or the ability to change the regime in Iran on his own, Donald has found himself in a dead end with the Strait of Hormuz blocked. Now he is trying to blackmail NATO allies, demanding military assistance and threatening to cut off support for Ukraine. In reality, he effectively curtailed that support the very moment he stepped back into the White House. This is no longer just illogical — it is an open trade of the security of entire regions for the sake of an illusion of control over a situation he himself helped destabilize. It is a desperate attempt to maintain the image of a “winner” ahead of the midterm elections this fall, even though behind that mask there is only arrogance, narcissism, and a complete lack of strategy.

Donald Trump ordered the Strait of Hormuz to open within a week, otherwise, he stressed, the consequences for the strait would be terrible. “I think the strait should understand that it’s impossible to stand against the greatest U.S. president. I think it understands that, and we will make a tremendous deal,” the U.S. president noted.

The mystery is solved. Trump has long been saying that Iran is finished — completely crushed and has lost the war. How could anyone not believe the President of the United States? But then who, over the past day, shot down two American aircraft, damaged helicopters, and injured rescuers? There is an answer — Trump’s haters will be put to shame. The answer to this question was given a couple of weeks ago by the loyal Vice President Vance. It’s demons. “I don’t think they are aliens. I think they are demons. That is… some kind of celestial beings flying around and doing strange things to people…” (literal translation of the quote). He knew. He knew everything…

A post more in the form of a question: The United States considers itself a global leader, and especially under Trump’s leadership, the idea of America’s separation from Europe’s problems is being promoted. “We are here — and you are there,” Trump makes it clear. “Your European problems are not my headache.” Hungary is a small EU country that depends on subsidies and is not a major producer of goods important to the world. It is not a frontline between good and evil (that role has been taken by Ukraine). It is not a significant power with massive lobbying influence, like Israel has become. Nor is it a strategic ally of the United States. So why does the “king” Trump so eagerly support Orbán? Why does someone like J.D. Vance travel to Hungary to support Orbán ahead of elections? There don’t seem to be any particularly valuable agreements between them, no exchange of innovations, and even Orbán himself, as a figure, is at times diminished by Trump. Orbán is not equal to Trump, and this is emphasized in various ways and observations. The answer, in my view: Orbán is not important to Trump. He is important to Putin. And Trump very openly defends Orbán’s role — as if he is repaying something.

On April 4, 1949, a treaty establishing NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) was signed by twelve countries. NATO had three “siblings” as well: SEATO, CENTO, and SATO. I don’t know what the future holds for NATO, but those military-political blocs did not survive the geopolitical transformations. SEATO (the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization) included the United States, the United Kingdom, West Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines, and Pakistan. Its activities were aimed at combating communist movements in Southeast Asia. The organization’s influence declined after the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Vietnam. In the mid-1970s, Thailand left the bloc. The organization was dissolved by mutual agreement of its member states. CENTO (the Central Treaty Organization) included the United Kingdom, Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan. The organization effectively served as a Western outpost in the Middle East. However, the Islamic Revolution in Iran led to that country’s withdrawal from CENTO, followed by Pakistan. After that, Turkey initiated the dissolution of the organization, which had lost its purpose. There were also plans to create SATO (the South Atlantic Treaty Organization), which would have included Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, and South Africa. However, the project was never implemented.

Insiders claim that the American astronauts currently heading to the Moon have been given a special mission. They are supposed to select a site for installing a 25-meter golden statue of Trump to commemorate the end of his rule. The figure is meant to be visible from Earth and reflect sunlight. The installation itself is expected to be completed by 2028.

Russians drove up to Ukrainian Armed Forces positions… and simply surrendered. Entire crews approached in tanks and BMPs right up to Ukrainian trenches, stopped, opened the hatches, and said: “Take the equipment, just don’t shoot.” Soldiers and officers came out with their hands raised; some even helped move the tanks onto Ukrainian positions. Within a few hours, our fighters received dozens of operational Russian vehicles along with ammunition. The Russians were surrendering en masse—without a fight, without resistance, as if they were simply tired of the war.

The idea of assigning the task of unblocking the Strait of Hormuz to Donald Trump’s “Peace Council” is useful at least in that it immediately strips away any remaining illusions about the state of modern politics. In the past, an international operation required a fleet, allies, a mandate, and at least a minimal understanding of the consequences. Now, it seems, a loud name, a few odd participants, and the kind of facial expression with which someone is used to declaring victory before the game even begins are enough. What gives this construction a particular charm is the possible “force component” — special forces from Hungary, Belarus, and Uzbekistan. This is no longer just a coalition. It’s practically a literary genre. The lineup is such that the opponent might either be intimidated, burst out laughing, or, just in case, ask whether it’s all a prank. In international affairs, even a pause is sometimes considered a success. The only problem is that Hormuz is not a stage for political stand-up. A strait does not open through the power of branding, the volume of statements, or a fondness for the word “peace” in its name. It opens with ships, mine-clearing operations, air cover, and a readiness to explain to the world why a “peace initiative” suddenly started to smell like a major war. So such a council can do what most similar constructs do today: hold meetings, take photos, produce urgent-sounding vocabulary, and create the impression of activity. That too is a craft. It just has about as much to do with navigation as a press conference has to do with mine-sweeping.
