I watched this movie because the audiobook was on sale, and I listened to it when I was sick. The ending was so bewilderingly unbelievable that I had to see if the film would improve upon it. I guess it did, but all I could think the entire time was that while Amanda was giving the performance of a lifetime, Sydney was about as magnetic as a jug of milk. I truly cannot fathom it having a $372.2 million appeal.

This is like Oppenheimer winning awards for a character that built the atomic bomb that could lead to the extinction of humanity. We should never ever award movies where a character does something we don’t like. That sets a bad precedent. 😡
