@OneEpiphany Well, Sasch sorted out the blue check for me, and honestly, if there's a benefit, it's not from the lower one. (May test and go for a higher one in summer, see if it makes a difference)

On the one hand - yes, there have been (still are) people that are pushing EEAT for rankings. That's despite G making amendments to their docs last year saying "no", and recently saying "no" on stage. On the other hand - there are some big mouths running around still protesting EEAT is a pile of shit, and does nothing. Personally - the latter is more harmful. . Let's go with 2 nigh identical sites. Same topic/subject. Same number of pages. Same queries being targeted. The only difference is ... ... Site A has intentionally gone through the GQRG, and removed every single bit of EEAT from their site. Site B on the other hand, has invested time, effort and resources, into UX, internal links, citing sources etc. Which one do you think will rank better in 3/6/9/12 months? Which one do you think will tank? The answer is of course, the shitty site that puts users off, fails to satisfy, causes unnecessary friction, and likely optimised by some stupid moron. . So we are clear ... ... the vast majority of EEAT is NOT direct ranking factors. Google do Not (as far as we are aware), have any specific algo or set of metrics, for things like Authors. They don't give you a bonus for having an Author Bio block or page (nor a negative for not). But people ... like site users ... respond to such things. Sometimes consciously, sometimes subconsciously. And the reactions are discernible. Shit sites/pages/content don't tend to earn links. Shit sites/pages/content don't tend to get repeat traffic. Shit sites/pages/content don't tend to satisfy. . I said it at the start, I said it all the way through, and I'm saying it again now (for the hard of thinking) EEAT is not direct ranking, but that does not mean you should ignore it. There's a ton of guidance there for quality content, for satisfying users. Admittedly, most of it isn't rocket science, and the fact that a fair % of SEOs seem to need guidance on this stuff is frankly disgusting, but, it is what it is. So you have the choice. a) Ignore EEAT, and possibly suffer b) Adhere to EEAT for rankings, and likely be somewhat disappointed c) Engage your brain, think for yourself, realise the value being presented, implement what's relevant, and be happy with slightly better SEO and UX and CR.
