Yeah, I have a 15 kW solar setup on my roof with two Tesla Powerwall batteries. I have two very large SEER, high-efficiency-rated AC units, energy-saving windows, high-R-rated insulation, and IR-blocking in the attic. I still pay about $500 to $600 a month to keep my house at 78 degrees during the summer. Total investment cost of nearly $80k (all in) for a 4,000 sq ft house. I have to keep the house for 20 years to recoup the investment, basically, and after 10 years, I will have to replace the power banks, parts, and so forth due to heat rot.
