@a_g_haubner Definitely agree with that. I think 38-0 hid a lot. But definitely a very very top heavy team. Last year there were definitely games where their role players helped them win a game.Ex Ahslynn going 7-10 from 3 vs Iowa State. This year I don't think there were any games like this

@OneNameSam Yup his teams quietly look a lot more like Mulkey’s (one or two megastars that carry) vs Dawn’s (elite depth) these days and I think that’s fascinating

@Imakegoodtakes @_Tyrone___ A PG with 1 assist and 4 turnovers???? I know she plays elite defence but I feel like assisting and not turning the ball over is kinda integral to the role of a PG

@a_g_haubner Definitely agree with you on the rotational pieces. I think the high profile signings have been carrying a lot of water for the program for a while. PG that can't initiate offences consistently. Guards that can't get to the rim leading them to settle for 3s.

@OneNameSam 100% and I think it’s fair that they may not have offered but the Geno of old would’ve made a point to go after every single top recruit at every position. He did lose that salesman fastball a bit lowkey because his rotational pieces have been lacking since Stewie left.

@thearkvi heavy on the "losing Paige was like losing multiple players". There was so many gaps she filled for the team last year. Need a scorer she did it. Need a PG she ran it. Need someone to do the dirty work and she did that. While consistently being the focus of other teams defenses

You can only make it so far without a real pg/ball handler whose main priority is that. And again no one could ever deny that losing Paige was like losing multiple players. We are talking about a top 3 guard in the wnba. It would have taken an entire team effort to repeat unfortunately we had an awful night.
