We’ve just started kicked started day two of the #PacificDisabilityDialogue here at Tanoa International, Nadi 🇫🇯 The Dialogue has brought together 130 representatives of 30 Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) from across the Pacific region, including 🇦🇺 & 🇳🇿

The morning session then continued into the dialogue of the newly developed draft PDF strategic plan. This session is done in collaboration with our partners from @CBMAustralia 🤝🏾

Participants used practical examples, such as comparing the budgets of families with and without disabilities, to highlight the "extra cost of disability" and demonstrate the realistic experiences of persons with disabilities.

Highlighting that social protection as a necessary measure to support people through life's unexpected events and financial shocks.

Article 28 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) establishes the right of persons with disabilities and their families to an adequate standard of living and social protection without discrimination. #Article28UNCRPD #SocialProtection
