The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Derek Fraser. The whole game benefited from Derek’s work which spanned more than 20 years of service as head of the Independent Football Commission and the Independent Football Ombudsman.

The EFL is saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Derek Fraser, a distinguished figure who served as head of both the Independent Football Commission (IFC) from 2001 to 2008, and Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) until 2022, devoting over 20 years to the game. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him. #EFL
