Tweeddale CPT Officers PC's Beaumont and Shiell have received complaints in relation to parking on Peebles High Street and have been encouraging drivers to park responsibly and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices when required. They will continue to carry out patrols across Tweeddale.

Tweeddale CPT Officers PC's Beaumont and Shiell recently conducted speed checks at the villages of Eddleston, Carlops and Broughton. One driver was warned regarding a minor infringement whilst another driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with other offences.

Tweeddale CPT officers PC's Shiell and Beaumont have recently carried out Bike Register Events in Peebles and West Linton with a total of 87 bikes being marked and registered on the national database. Thanks to all those who brought their bikes to these events.

The A7 between Stow and the B6368 has reopened following a one-car crash, which was reported around 1.35pm on Saturday, 7 February, 2026. Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precaution. Motorists are thanked for their patience.

Police in Galashiels will be holding a Bike Register Event where you can have your bike marked for free with two bonded stickers and get your bike details registered on the Bike Register. Where - Galashiels Transport Interchange. When - Sunday 11th January, 3pm to 5pm.

Officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the B6397 near Kelso. The crash happened around 7.40pm on Saturday, 20 December, 2025, and involved a black Vauxhall Astra. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. More: orlo.uk/JmcMw
