34, Dad. UK. This month I’ve decided to start over. For a long time I’ve struggled with my mental health and felt like I’ve been drifting through life instead of living it. I’m tired of watching the years pass without becoming the person I know I can be. I grew up in a working-class area where nobody talked about investing or building wealth. We were never taught about money and I spent years thinking it just wasn’t for people like me. Right now I’m clearing the last of my debt. Once that’s done I’m going all in on investing, improving my health and building a better future for me and my family. The portfolio below is where I started at the beginning of June. First month is down but it seems pretty normal as June looks like it was hard for everyone. Is that the same for you? I’m also trying to build real connections on here. I’ll follow back and reply to every comment because I don’t really have people around me who are into this and I’d genuinely like to learn from others and connect with people on a similar path.

Have only really started investing mate. At the minute I have auto invest on for £147 a month in multiple stocks. Once I clear my debt this will increase. Next few months I’m going heavy with annual bonus (not much) etc to clear them. Hoping to have about 6.5k interest free debt to next June left to clear by the end of August. Will reevaluate then! We will get there mate. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

HMRC has just paid my tax refund: £1,088 💰 This is being put straight towards debts: ✅ £1,000 to pay off my family member ✅ £88 towards my Lloyds credit card Total debt now down to £17,266 (starting debt of £18,701) 📉 I am glad I did my 25/26 tax return early now!
