@JezCorden They leverage AI to get that stuff done as it now just takes some tokens to get it done and no expensive human time.

Can't help but feel like they realised AI / Sam Altman is a gigantic scam with a really hard cap on its real world applications vs. cost. Strong pivot to bread and butter, which were suffering hard under the gigantic OpenAI disaster.

In the past 6 weeks we have seen a rather strong shift for both Xbox and Windows implementing requested features after years of ignoring them. This is great but…what changed for both of this massive orgs to suddenly start listening?

@NoMansSky I don't know what to say. What an awesome out-of-box thinking to bring new fun and incentives to the pet adoption and sequencing mechanics. Huge respect to you and the Hello Games Team. This is pure joy. I feel brought back to my gameboy pokemon days.

@bcherny I have Claude Code in VS Code terminal oftentimes. At some point, the displayed characters get garbled, up to the point they become unreadable. Like hieroglyphs. Is that known? Could the new renderer help with this?

For those curious, new Surface PCs are coming this spring. So wait a few more weeks if you were thinking about buying a current gen model.

@asha_shar 1. Skyrim. Best fantasy world & full freedom. 2. No Man's Sky. Worst over-promised und underdelivered game launch ever, but they completely overdelivered with all of the updates since then. 3. World of Warcraft. At least up until Burning Crusade. Huge guilds - socially great.

@mjovanovictech I mean. Just look at what you write in your articles. Give all that to the model and tell it to apply that. Make a queue skill, make a db skill, make a sql skill. Combine that and you have a jack of all trades that's consistent in how it does all these things.

@mjovanovictech I'm not really sure. When I see what models can already achieve, code will very soon become a throwaway commodity. The spec will become much more important, and architectural guidance, but the code not so much.

@GrahamFleming @rough__sea It's essential. Simple forms over data input thingies can be one-shot and re-done every time. But when you need to integrate with different systems, building complex distributed systems, you need a thorough understanding of the little moving parts to make that reliable.

This has been said a thousand times before, but allow me to add my own voice: the era of humans writing code is over. Disturbing for those of us who identify as SWEs, but no less true. That's not to say SWEs don't have work to do, but writing syntax directly is not it.

@robmen @Dries Even if it's only 10 up to 25 bucks per dev per year for every commercial project it's used in. It's used so widespread, that should bring in sufficient funds and won't scare away users at that price point.

@Dries Running a SaaS company for an Open Source SaaS project is cool. But Tailwind CSS isn't that type of project. It's a framework/platform/foundation. Those require careful maintenance. I think they should (at least) charge for that: robmensching.com/blog/posts/202…

Tailwind Labs laid off 75% of its engineering team. AI isn’t killing open source though. It’s stress-testing business models built on "describable things". I wrote more about what this means for developer tools and where durable value lives: dri.es/ai-is-a-busine…

@gregyoung @facebook This is free speech. Literally. It's not illegal. Just vulgar and tells a thing or two about the person using it. No need for censorship here. If they would deny the holocaust, that's illegal and something to report.

@facebook I reported a comment someone made telling someone else in a public group to "eat a bag of d*cks". I was told it was reviewed and is perfectly acceptable?! There is no way to question the "review". Have rules changed in a quite material way that this is now acceptable?

@PhoenixHawk Regarding twitter reverting to the "For You" tab instead of sticking to the "Following" tab which you mentioned the other day.. I had the same issue, but since yesterday (I think?) it seems to be fixed, i.e. when I open Twitter it defaults to "Following" again.
