Obsessive fans take note of who participates, try to extrapolate the players’ personal views from it, and the worst fans will make accusations of homophobia, transphobia, etc of the players who choose not to participate. I spoke to my family today in Jahanahahr, Karaj. The same neighborhood where a Sepah base just 1 mile from our home was heavily bombed yesterday. What they told me left me speechless… in the most beautiful way. They’re happy. Truly happy. God bless the angelic troops of the U.S. and Israel.” I’m so proud of her I could cry. This is what 47 years of oppression does, it turns terror into fearless joy.
