Why are they wielding 18th century flintlock pistols? Why are they donning late 16th century armor? Why are they wearing red sashes as if they're imperial military? Culture war narratives are rarely conductive to accurate protrayals of historical events, because the authors are hyperfocused on combatting their ideological oposition, rather than research.
