Well, that would've been a better twist tbh, in the sense that you didn't expect it at all. You have this annoying guy who, turns out, was a girl irl. But, was that the whole point of the show? Jax? That means the plot actually starts near the end and the rest is all filler.

The fact that they are only brain scans and not that different from the NPCs feels so nihilistic to me. Like yeah...I realize the message is to find meaning in a stagnant life, but it feels like the "meaning" is based purely on selfish desires and indulgence.
