About 1 min stuck issue on old iOS YouTube, I’m aware of it. I couldn’t reproduce the issue on any of my devices so the investigation can’t begin, yet.

EmojiPort beta and font are up on my repo.

Polyfills version 2.17.2 fixes this issue. The issue was introduced in 2.17.1.

This works by spoofing the app version to 19.14.2 (Yes, it downgrades the version). YouTube apparently still serves compatible content for home/search for YouTube version around 19. It probably doesn't have to be exactly 19.14.2.

So, YouTube has made some server-side changes that cause YouTube iOS 20.23.3 and lower to not render home feed and search results correctly (20.24.4+ work fine). This means iOS 15 users are affected. Good news is that you can install YouTube Legacy tweak version 1.9.0 to fix it.

@PoomSmart Does YouTube on iOS not use AVPlayer for playback? Are there any details on what kind of custom player they use? There are so few apps that use a fully custom player.

iOS YouTube 20.47.3 removed HAMVPXVideoDecoder (libvpx software VP9 decoder). This means YTUHD won't be able to enable VP9 on unsupported devices anymore. Good news: appears AV1 is used instead and it works for 2K/4K resolutions. Bad news: AV1 doesn't seem to work on sideloaded.
