Highlights from the Nigeria–UK Business Forum, organised by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), held at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Marlborough House, London.
The high-level engagement convened policymakers, investors, business leaders, and diaspora stakeholders to advance dialogue on strengthening Nigeria–UK trade and investment relations.
Through impactful conversations and strategic engagements, the forum underscored Nigeria’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business environment, enhancing investor confidence, and unlocking sustainable economic opportunities.
The forum continues to serve as a strong platform for fostering partnerships, promoting Made-in-Nigeria enterprises, and positioning Nigeria as a competitive destination for global investment.

As part of the 90-Day Business Environment Enhancement Programme Accelerator (BEEPA), the Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, led a technical observation visit to the Tin Can Island Port under the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee.
The visit, facilitated by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), formed part of a focused three-day engagement designed to observe end-to-end cargo clearance processes, joint inspection practices, and inter-agency operational workflows. Engagements were held with terminal operators at Five Star Logistics Terminal, Tin Can Ports and Cargo Handling Services (SIFAX), and Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT).
Representatives of the National Single Window joined the visit, sharing perspectives on ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination across port processes and streamline regulatory interfaces ahead of phased implementation. The engagement was also attended by key port and border agencies, including the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and the Port Health Authority.
The visit provides critical operational evidence to support BEEPA implementation, aimed at strengthening inter-agency coordination, improving cargo clearance performance, and advancing measurable efficiency gains at Nigeria’s ports.

The Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, led the PEBEC team on a visit to the Lagos Apapa Ports for Day 2 of a three-day Lagos engagement. Joined by Hon. Ahmed Munir, Chairman, House Committee on Commerce.
The visit, conducted under the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee of the 90-Day Business Environment Enhancement Programme Accelerator (BEEPA), was facilitated by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and included engagements across APM Terminals, ENL Terminal, GDNL Terminal, and Lillypond Container Terminal.
The engagement also featured participation from the National Single Window, alongside key port and border agencies including the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and the Port Health Authority.
The visit supports evidence-based implementation under BEEPA, reinforcing inter-agency collaboration and informing targeted efficiency improvements across Nigeria’s ports.

Discussions explored opportunities to enhance operational efficiency at the Registry as part of wider efforts to strengthen intellectual property protection and support business growth in Nigeria. The delegation shared ongoing plans to establish an in-house IT function to improve technical capacity and service delivery.
The PEBEC team reiterated its readiness to provide strategic advisory support in facilitating stakeholder alignment and ensuring that any planned digital improvements are seamlessly integrated to reduce bottlenecks and improve the ease of doing business.

16.09.2025. The Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, delivered a goodwill message at the One-Day Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Economic Governance in Nigeria, convened by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) at the NILDS Permanent Site.
Speaking at the high-level gathering, which brought together lawmakers, policymakers, and economic governance stakeholders, Princess Zahrah underscored the importance of deepening legislative–executive synergy as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable economic reforms.
She emphasized that economic governance is not the sole responsibility of government but the product of effective collaboration between institutions, the private sector, and citizens. She reaffirmed PEBEC’s commitment to working with the National Assembly and institutions like NILDS to build governance structures that are competitive, inclusive, and resilient for the future.
Princess Zahrah also expressed concern about the legislative oversight of private businesses, stressing the need for clear definitions and boundaries within the law. She highlighted the importance of educating lawmakers on the scope and limits of their oversight powers to prevent overreach and ensure a more effective and balanced approach.

The National Coordinator briefed the DG on preparations for the upcoming Made in Nigeria Expo and Trade Fair, scheduled to hold in Hong Kong later this year, highlighting the OSGF’s vision to use the Expo as a platform to showcase Nigerian products, strengthen cross-border trade, and attract international investors.
The Sierra Leonean team also shared updates on the planned Sierra Leonean edition of the Made in Nigeria Trade Fair, to be hosted in Freetown, underscoring the growing regional collaboration around the “Made in Nigeria” theme. Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu emphasized the need for transparent and open dialogue stating’
“We are here not just to have a meeting, but to better understand the issues that plague your society here in Borno State, because we know the business climate differs across Nigeria. We are hoping today you can be honest with us at the federal level about how we can make things easier for you.”
