Then airstrikes by the DR Congo government This timeline shows how agreements between DR Congo and M23 were repeatedly followed by drone strikes and aerial attacks by the DR Congo government (2025–2026). Aerial strikes increased sharply in February 2026, according to conflict monitoring data. The February 2026 escalation marked the highest number of aerial strikes recorded in the conflict in recent years.

How is it that all of a sudden there is no information or intelligence on the origin of the drone attack on Goma this morning that has reportedly killed 3 people including an EU citizen? Despite all the reports of increased FARDC coalition drone attacks in North & South Kivu. Despite MONUSCO presence in Goma. Despite all the hurriedly deleted celebratory X posts by pro-FDLR/pro-Kinshasa accounts. Every life matters.

Let's discuss the UN’s lack of "intelligence and integrity." This claim by MONUSCO lacks the historical scale and documented consistency that defines the FDLR’s decades-long record of sexual assault. To suggest that the M23, a group responding to the threat of genocidaires, now surpasses the very FDLR in sexual violence, is a distortion of reality. We know better. The UN’s data doesn’t reflect a change in the nature of this conflict; it reflects a captured narrative. As I argued in my last article, the FDLR are not only the direct continuation of an unfinished genocide, they are the same group that pioneered systematic rape so comprehensively it forced the landmark Akayesu judgment at the ICTR, finally establishing sexual violence as a war crime. These perpetrators did not stop in 1994; the UN simply allowed their "rape capital" to migrate to eastern DRC. In his work, The Open Source Intelligence Manifesto, Robert David Steele wrote: "While the UN has committed itself to coherence, with the meme of 'Delivering as one,' they do not have the intelligence, nor the integrity, to actually do that." Kinshasa has built its political survival on a dangerous alignment with these genocidaires. This is evident, in that President Tshisekedi’s last campaign wasn't built on domestic reform, but on the mobilization for war with Kigali. Now that the war he promised is upon us, the international community perversely demands peace from Rwanda, rather than accountability from the man who volunteered his state, as the surrogate motherland for the next genocide in our region. A man who literally campaigned on his neighbor’s destruction. By refusing to hold Kinshasa responsible, the UN creates a permanent void between diplomatic signatures and ground reality. Kinshasa now governs through irregular militias, blurring the line between state power and proxy violence. The VDP Wazalendo label is the ultimate symptom: militant brutality rebranded as "nationalism." This system, signing agreements with no follow-up on implementation, is sustained by what Steele called the UN’s lack of "intelligence and integrity." This report is simply the latest example of that institutional failure. Why separate the FARDC, Wazalendo, FDLR, and Mai-Mai when they are one and the same on the battlefield? Why pretend CODECO did not learn its ‘cafard’ killing anthem from the FDLR? Why provide nameless figures for some, while ignoring the explicit, verified videos of Wazalendo sexual violence in Fizi and FARDC assaults on the streets of Kinshasa? This isn't data; it's the UN's latest political shield for a genocidal state. “Sanctioning Rwanda has never freed DR Congo… As long as the defense of targeted communities is prosecuted as aggression, DR Congo will never abort the genocide fetus it carries.” – my last article.
