Options Trading is not just about profits In your journey you will have plenty of losses Losses are inevitable As long as you have a good process that works for you and you stick to those processes you will have more profits than losses A thread 🧵 on some of the losses 👇

If you had $250,000 cash and sold options with it… You can generate $4k to $5k per month There will be drawdowns in the account in a down market But on average you can generate $4-5k per month of income Option Selling is very powerful

A common misconception when you buy a LEAPS call: “The price needs to be above the breakeven price for you to make money” That is absolutely NOT true Example: I bought this $META 1/21/28 $800 call for $61.75 on March 26 The breakeven price is $861.75 But… That only matters at expiration date I sold this call for $88.25 on April 9 while $META was barely at $630 So yeah… Even though the price is nowhere close to $861.75… I was able to profit almost $2,700 per contract in less than a month 🔥💰

A few more details about this: ✅ Have booked about $48K in premium profits ✅Bought long term shares with those premiums So the long term shares fueled the options trades (access to margin) and in turn the options premium will fuel the long term growth of the account

Started a new TastyTrade account in the beginning of 2026 Transferred $48k in cash by January And then transferred money from 2 separate accounts that were about $393k in long term shares in March So account size of $441k Today the account value is $552k Sold puts on margin and held long term shares And added to long term shares with premium from puts

I don’t size my contracts uniformly at all 😃 If a stock like $NVDA is really oversold I have no problem oversizing the contracts If it is neutral (RSI 50-60) then I don’t size big So stocks like $AMZN $AMD $TSLA $GOOGL $META - same concept

I love selling puts on $AMZN Either a week out or a month out in expiration Delta 0.15 to 0.25 Consistent premium And what’s the worst that can happen? I buy an amazing company at a cheaper price?

My rule of thumb regarding expiration dates: ✅ Buying options - the farther out the better ✅ Selling options - the closest possible expiration that is worthwhile (Could be weekly, monthly or even longer)

If you are not using back up trades to protect your main trades… You need to learn it This is what makes options trading really flexible A couple of examples: - If your Covered Call is in trouble, use Put Credit Spreads to pay for the debits that you might take in your rolls - If your Iron Condor goes against you, use a broken winged butterfly to protect the troubled side So many ways to play options Takes years to master them But gotta start somewhere
