@Radguy1

Liberal democracy is a euphemism for government by the highest bidder. Enclosure of the commons is capitalism's lynchpin and the basis of modern slavery. Metric

Whenever Israel is killing tons of civilians the western media always start churning out articles about “antisemitism” and Jewish feelings. “Jews Begin to Wonder: Is Anywhere Safe?” blares a recent headline from The Wall Street Journal, subtitled “‘It feels like the 1930s again.’ Hostility against Jews surges in Western countries where they felt safe in recent decades.” An article for The Atlantic titled “Canada’s Polite Pogrom” bizarrely tries to argue that “tolerance for zealotry” is somehow “purging Jews from public life.” A Washington Examiner headline proclaims that “Jewish voters feel ‘politically homeless’ as antisemitism rises on both sides.” A headline for The Telegraph asserts that “Many Jews are sensing frightening echoes of 1930s Germany in 2020s Britain.” War Criminal Tony Blair writes an article for The Free Press titled “Why the West Fails to Stop Antisemitism”. Meanwhile, in real life, people are being mercilessly butchered in Iran, Lebanon and Palestine by Israel and its allies. The uglier it gets, the more aggressive the concern-trolling about “antisemitism” becomes. The Jewish Chronicle has published an article by Maureen Lipman titled “Does the world have any idea of how tired the people of Israel are?”, subtitled “A dear friend told me that his grandchildren have needed to enter their safe room more than 200 times since the current battle began.” “The BBC and reporters worldwide do not go into the shelters where children are trained to lie on the floor when the sirens go off,” writes Lipman. “Neither do they report on the closure of schools. Most Israeli kids have missed some school every day since Covid. Are the media even aware of the fear of the elderly in Israel?” Absolutely incredible. She writes as though Israelis are the only people on earth whose country is being bombed. Only Zionists could drop bombs on neighboring populations every single day for years and then go “NOBODY IN THE WORLD CAN IMAGINE WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LIVE IN FEAR OF AIRSTRIKES!” Western news reporters face so much pressure to pad Israel’s image and advance Israeli information interests that the Associated Press just ran an editorial titled “AP is calling Israel’s attack on Lebanon an invasion. What does that mean and why does it matter?” justifying its decision to call what is self-evidently and indisputably an invasion the thing that it is. You never saw them do this with Ukraine. You never saw the media holding long internal deliberations about what to label it and then publishing editorials going “We’re going to call this a Russian invasion, we’re pretty sure that’s what this is called, please don’t be mad at us!” That’s how cowed they are by Israel’s supporters, and how much pressure they feel to toe the imperial line no matter what. At the same time in the Israeli press we’re seeing op-eds like The Jerusalem Post’s “Long-term deradicalization in Gaza faces major hurdles,” which argues explicitly for the total ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian territory. The article’s author Martin Sherman dismisses claims that the people of Gaza can be “deradicalized” — as though the radicalization of Palestinians is the problem, and not the radical political ideology of the people who’ve been waging an extermination campaign upon them. Instead, Sherman argues, everyone must accept the “harsh reality” that only annexation and ethnic cleansing can lead to a lasting peace in the Gaza Strip. “The only way Israel can ensure how the Gaza Strip will be governed, and who will govern it, is to govern it itself,” writes Sherman. “Moreover, the only way Israel can govern the Gaza Strip without becoming an external oppressor of ‘another people’ is to remove ‘the other people’ from the confines of the Gaza Strip itself.” “This is not radical right-wing radicalism. It is merely sound and sober political science,” Sherman writes. If it isn’t right-wing radicalism to advocate the mass purge of a colonized indigenous population from their homeland for being the wrong ethnicity, then right-wing radicalism does not exist. That’s pretty much as right-wing extremist as it gets. And this is an entirely mainstream Israeli publication. If anyone on earth needs to be deradicalized, it’s the Israelis and their supporters.

Today, we visited the Minab school in southern Iran, where US forces massacred 168 students and teachers at the outset of the Trump-Netanyahu war of aggression on Iran. About ten minutes after we left the Minab school today, it was hit with a drone strike. (The aftermath of that strike was captured in this video). Yesterday, we were in the Iranian city of Bushehr, which lies on the Persian Gulf to the north of Minab. Shortly after we left our hotel in Bushehr, there was an airstrike on a target directly across the street from our hotel. While we were in Bushehr, we visited a marine terminal that had sustained damage in airstrikes conducted earlier this month. Shortly after we left the marine terminal, it too was hit with an airstrike. Another site that we visited in Bushehr yesterday was also hit with an airstrike shortly after we left it. Now all of this could be random. On the other hand, it may be that U.S.-Israeli forces are sending us a message. If in fact they are sending us a message, we have a message for them. Our message is that no amount of intimidation will stop us from exposing their monstrous crimes. #Iran #Iranwar

🚨REPORT | BBC Verify says footage and expert analysis indicate a U.S. Precision Strike Missile was likely used in the March 9 strike on a sports hall in Lamerd, Iran, where children were training, killing at least 21 people, including young girls. High-resolution satellite imagery reviewed by the BBC shows the sports hall and nearby residential buildings destroyed, while the adjacent IRGC compound appears to have remained undamaged. As Drop Site’s earlier reporting documented, the missile tore through a civilian gym packed with students during training sessions, triggering panic, collapsing debris, and “continuous screaming” as injured children were pulled from the rubble. Eyewitnesses described parents arriving to find bodies of teenage girls and young athletes—some killed instantly, others buried under concrete. Both BBC and Drop Site reports are linked below.
Shayan Sardarizadeh@Shayan86

Here's our detailed investigation into the deadly strike on the Iranian town of Lamerd on the first day of the conflict, which munitions experts say was likely carried out with state-of-the-art US missiles.

The US-Israel alliance exists to fix the problems created by its existence. The US and Israel have sown death and destruction throughout the region for generations, creating generation after generation of survivors who hate them and want them gone, and then it cites the existence of people who hate them and want them gone as the reason why the US needs to keep supporting Israel. The US needs to help Israel harm people or else the people who are mad about being harmed might harm Israelis. It's circular reasoning all the way through. Ask an American Israel supporter why it benefits the US to defend Israel, and they'll tell you it advances American interests in the middle east. Ask them what American interests it helps advance in the middle east and they'll tell you it counters the malign influence of Iran and terrorist groups. Ask them to describe exactly what Iran and the terrorist groups are doing which directly harms American interests, and they'll tell you they threaten American troops in the region. Ask them why American troops can't just leave the region to remove the threat, and they'll tell you they can't because that would be abandoning Israel. Ask them why the US can't simply abandon Israel, and they'll tell you it's an important US ally. Ask them to explain why Israel is an important US ally, and they'll tell you it's because it advances American interests in the middle east. The official narrative about the importance of the US-Israel alliance is self-justifying circular reasoning the whole way through, no matter what point you start examining it from. They'll tell you the west needs to support the poor innocent nation of Israel because it gets attacked by evildoers who want to destroy it for no reason. In reality Israel is despised by middle eastern populations because the west dropped a brand new ethnostate on top of a pre-existing civilization and forced it into being through continuous brute military force ever since, and that violence is all Israel's opponents are ever responding to. The west created the violence it claims to be countering. The only argument Israel's defenders in America make which does not rely on circular reasoning and dishonest obfuscation is "The Bible says we gotta give JDAMs to Benjamin Netanyahu." But the argument that permanent war is justified because you think that some book of made-up stories commands you to give military support to a nation that's younger than Dolly Parton does not deserve to be taken seriously. If they were honest they'd just admit that it benefits the US empire's ambitions of total global domination to have a ton of military bases and sympathetic partners in the middle east, which is rich in fossil fuels and critical trade routes. If you knew absolutely nothing about the middle east but understood global military conquest you'd be able to tell that west Asia would be a critical point of geostrategic control just by looking at a globe, since it's the only region on our planet which joins three continents. But they can't admit that, because it would be admitting that all this violence and suffering isn't about promoting the interests of Americans or defending Jews or fighting terrorism or spreading freedom and democracy, and is instead about advancing the interests of a few oligarchs and empire managers with the facilitation of crazy religious beliefs held by Jewish Zionists and Christian Zionists. So they lie and make up stories about why it makes perfect sense for American soldiers to be headed to Iran right now, and why it was entirely reasonable for the US to send genocide weapons to Israel throughout the incineration of the Gaza Strip. It smells like bullshit because that's what it is.

Mehdi Hasan spent years crusading for regime change from Syria to China based on phony State Dept human rights reports that were easily debunked. He zealously celebrated the Al Qaeda takeover of Syria, and has kept quiet ever since about Israeli troops occupying the country while prisons full of ISIS fighters were emptied along Iran's borders. Mehdi is now hyping a bunk regime change narrative to discredit Iran's leadership as they face down a campaign of state destruction imposed by Israel and the US. His source is Amnesty, the EU-backed NGO which legitimized the Kuwaiti incubator babies hoax that enabled the US to launch the First Gulf War on Iraq. On January 8 and 9, Mossad-backed rioters murdered hundreds of police officers, guards and civilians across Iran, while burning down government buildings and mosques. The extensively documented regime change riots provided a bridge between the 12-day-war and the current assault on Iran, and form the blueprint for Israel's stalled plan to destabilize the country from within. At the time, Amnesty described the rioters as "largely peaceful protesters," as though they were staging a lunch counter sit-in. Amnesty also held rallies in Europe throughout January which supported the toppling of Iran's government. Mehdi confidently echoes Amnesty's deceptive language in order to browbeat his interview subject, presenting him as a criminal while his colleagues at Iran's Foreign Ministry face the threat of assassination by Israel. With his deployment of yet another shabby regime change narrative, and his characteristic refusal to acknowledge any facts which might undercut his pre-packaged argument, Mehdi has joined the US-Israeli information war against Iran. None of his virtue signaling about Palestine can deflect from the insidious role he's playing.
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

"Why should we believe your government and not Amnesty?" I asked the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman about Amnesty International accusing the Iranian government of "massacres" of Iranian protesters, based on "verified videos & eyewitness accounts":

Weird. 15 people were killed only a few months ago not by any of these groups. More people died before that in a cafe held hostage, also by none of those groups. Australians also didn't get blown up in Kuta, by any of these groups. You weren't run out of a mosque only a few days ago by any of those groups. Your own ASIO director Mike Burgess, also explicitly says Islamic terrorism remains the most dangerous religiously motivated threat in the country. It seems Albanese, and the broader Labor government, are truly hostage to the Islamic voting bloc - even if said bloc produces some of the most violent, dangerous people in the country right now.

UN Watch@UNWatch

🔥 BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR Rare moment of truth at the UN from brave Kuwaiti dissident @JJJuraid, invited by UN Watch: Mr. Chair, I heard the term “colonizers.” But who are the real colonizers? A Jewish Kingdom ruled in Judea for a thousand years. We, the Arabs, took this land. Who Arabized Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians and Amazighs? It was us, the Arabs. So why does the council enshrine a lie by keeping a permanent agenda item on Palestine, while ignoring the indigenous heart of Israel returning home? Let us be clear about who is actually defending our sovereignty. Today, Israel is a fighter for peaceful nations, freeing Gaza from Hamas and saving Iranians from the Islamic Republic. What Israel is doing to the IRGC — stopping a genocidal regime from acquiring nuclear weapons — is a gift to humanity. There are 57 Islamic countries and only one Jewish state, Israel. Despite the ongoing hateful desire to eliminate it, Israel has not only survived, it has thrived. I don't believe in miracles, but this is one. So I ask the UN: when will you end the ritual of condemning Israel? Is it not time, instead, to learn from Israel? How to defeat terror, defend free societies, and pursue peace. Thank you.

As soon as you accept that Israel must exist as a "Jewish state" no matter what, you are accepting that there will never be peace in the middle east. Because Israel cannot exist as it is without nonstop violence. Show a Zionist a map where Israel does not exist as a Jewish state and a map where the entire middle east is on fire except for Israel, and then ask them to pick a future, and they'll pick the second one every time. That's the worldview that's baked into Zionism. The worldview you're not supposed to bring up in mainstream discourse about the Zionist ideology. You're not supposed to mention the demented murderousness inherent in the premise that Israel must exist as a Jewish ethnonationalist state no matter how many people need to be killed in order to make that happen. But that's the reality. It's a simple matter of historical record that Israel cannot exist without continuous violence and abuse. That's not my opinion, that's historical fact. There has never been a modern state of Israel which does not constantly kill and abuse its native population and the inhabitants of neighboring countries. And the typical Zionist response to such criticisms is to blame everyone but themselves. It's the fault of the Palestinians, the Arab nations, the Iranians etc, because they refused to tolerate the west's imposition of a brand new ethnostate dropped on top of a pre-existing population who became victims of mass displacement and apartheid as soon as it was created. But nobody has ever been able to provide me with a convincing argument why the original inhabitants of the region ever should have accepted this arrangement. They've never been able to put me in the shoes of a Palestinian in the 1940s and lay out a reason why I should have been fine with the things that were happening to me and my people. Nobody has ever been able to provide me with a convincing argument why the Muslims of west Asia should not have stood in solidarity with the Palestinians and their plight. The only solid argument they've ever given me is "They should have laid down and submitted, because that's what was required in order for the Israelis to stop killing and abusing them." And that's still the only argument they've got to this very day: that the Palestinians and their neighbors should lie down and submit to the existence of this genocidal apartheid state that was inserted into their homeland like a glass shard into a foot. But the fact of the matter is that they did not lie down and submit. Many Arabs did out of sheer self-preservation, but many did not. You can tell me they should have given up and submitted, but that's just arguing with reality. That's not a solution, it's just whining about the inevitable. And this is where that leaves today. Israel and its allies butchering human beings throughout the middle east, creating countless war orphans who are naturally going to grow up desiring violent retribution. Generation after generation Israel creates the violence it pretends to be defending itself from, all because it was decided that there must be a "Jewish state" in historic Palestine no matter what needs to be done in order to accomplish this. And Zionists are fine with this. They don't care if the entire middle east is turned into an ocean of fire so long as the Israelis are still dancing to their electronic music in the middle of it. That's what this slogan "Israel has a right to exist" really means. It means Israel and its allies have a right to keep the middle east in a nonstop state of war, and the strongest argument for why this must be the case is that some dead guys made some stuff up and put it in a book thousands of years ago. At a certain point you need to admit that this is a psychopathic status quo which cannot be allowed to stand, and that anyone who supports it is complicit in the bloodshed. The ethnonationalist apartheid state of Israel must be dismantled. People's various religious objections to this statement must be disregarded as infantile tantrums made by adults who believe silly fairy tales. A wildly different status quo needs to be established from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. Because the alternative is a middle east that exists in a permanent state of nonstop violence and chaos.

It's disgusting that this is the closest thing to a mass-scale antiwar protest in the United States right now. The problem with these "No Kings" protests is right there in the title. They're saying "We don't want a king, we want a president!" But Donald Trump is not a king. He is a president. And that's the real problem: US presidents are extremely evil men who do extremely evil things. Donald Trump is a US president who is doing US president things. US presidents consistently murder people with unforgivable acts of mass military violence, mistreat immigrants and marginalized communities, and promote tyranny for the benefit of corrupting special interests in defense of the US empire and the capitalist status quo. That's what their job is. If they weren't willing to do these things, they wouldn't get the job. Trump is not some freakish aberration; he is the product of the same American political status quo as his predecessors. He became president the same way they did, and the powers he now wields were given to his office via mundane executive, legislative and judicial decisions and precedents before he was ever elected. But because the "No Kings" protests are organized by liberal defenders of that same political status quo, the demonstrations cannot address any of this. The whole thing is designed to be as large and inclusive as possible while also ensuring that it doesn't disrupt the established order in any meaningful way. They make no real demands. They coordinate the demonstrations with police and government officials. Protesters show up for a few hours with their brunch signs and their orange guy shirts, and then they go home without inconveniencing anybody. They are not protesting against the US empire. They just want a more polite, photogenic empire. They are not protesting the corrupt oligarchic political system which gave rise to Donald Trump. They just want the corrupt oligarchic political system to give rise to presidents who make them feel less uncomfortable. The problem is US presidents, not kings. The problem is the US empire, not Trump. The United States needs drastic, revolutionary change, not daytime protests designed to be as inoffensive as possible. As long as Americans are protesting against fictional monarchies and easily replaceable oligarchic puppets instead of resisting the actual imperial machine, the abuses are going to continue. The war in Iran is the most obviously evil American war in generations. People should be flooding the streets in every major US city. Washington DC should be on fire. Soldiers should be deserting en masse. Instead we're seeing these stupid fluffy lib theater conventions where people get together to do nothing. Americans of conscience should be feeling deeply embarrassed right now.

If the US were a normal country with a normal military it could just walk away from Iran whenever it wants. But because it's running an empire with military bases throughout the middle east, this war is only over when Iran says it's over. Iran can keep hitting those bases as long as it has missiles and drones to launch. Tehran knows it needs to impose severe costs on the United States or else it's just going to get bombed again in a year or two, so even if Trump "declares victory" and says the war is over it can keep hammering those bases while imposing economic costs with the Strait of Hormuz blockade for as long as it likes. Basically it appears the US has three options: 1. Dramatically escalate and find some way to secure total victory. 2. Pull out and just let Iran smash the US military bases in the region until it decides a sufficient price has been paid. 3. Completely withdraw from the middle east. All of which would come at extreme cost to the empire. We live in interesting times.
