Increasing number of people who are just not aware that Sinners did indeed come out on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K with a full assortment of extras. This is the second post I’ve seen talking about it like it doesn’t exist. We’ve gotta market physical media more! The people need to know!
I appreciate you.@DeeLaSheeArt

I will buy a dvd player just to have Ryan Coogler release a director’s cut, behind the scenes, deleted scenes, alternate ending, director’s commentary, choose your own adventure, bloopers, cast & crew interviews, Blu Ray, HD, wide screen, deluxe edition DVD

This rules but just want to say that — The last time there was this kind of excitement for a non-franchise picture was last year with SINNERS. Also sold out for over a week and more. But the sentiment remains, the crowds yearn for non franchise IP films.

PROJECT HAIL MARY is almost completely sold out at Universal CityWalk IMAX for the next week. This is a Monday night screening. The last time I witnessed this kind of excitement in a non-franchise picture was with OPPENHEIMER.

@culturehause @BET and then not support it when it's delivered. It's all moving to Paramount+ which is "behind a paywall" now too. That's just where most TV lives now. Support the things we want more of or those things will continue to exist less and less. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@culturehause @BET It was never "free." BET was always a cable channel you paid for and a lot of people paid for cable packages mainly for that channel. Bet+ was an easy call for many and actually had good subscriber growth, a decent price, and great content. We can't say "they should give us this"

@DeePhunk @DJRTistic Agreed I'm Ready feels like last dance/last call vibes. Not peak hours vibes. I think Tell Me What You Want Me To Do is superior than I'm Ready and had a higher peak on the charts...still probably not sing a long tempo but a great slow jam that should get a new life as well.

@DJRTistic “I’m Ready” is not the one. Too sappy. Too sweet. I’m waiting patiently for the DJ to appear and give “Goodbye” a second lease on life.

Me n my boy had a convo about how so many people on Twitter say that DJs should play “I’m ready” instead of “Can we talk.” As an experiment, he played both back to back at a party we did. The crowd sang “Can we talk” word for word, and….didn’t sing a single word of “I’m ready.”

More cruel layoffs. Legacy radio getting shuttered. A reporter-free newsroom. Journalism is getting gutted brick by brick today, my god.

Yes, and that shift away from teen culture wasn’t accidental. Streaming and social media collapsed everything into the same space. Teens and adults are now consuming the same content on the same platforms, driven by the same algorithms. And those algorithms are not built for niche audiences, they are built for scale, retention, and ad revenue. So instead of developing teen-specific stars, as we saw in the 90s and early 2000s, when MTV actively segmented youth audiences through shows like TRL, and the heavy rotation of teen pop, creating space for teen culture to develop separately from adults, the industry now pushes whatever can perform across all age groups. That is why “teen music” faded and “viral music” replaced it. That is also why it feels like teen culture disappeared. It didn’t disappear. It just lost its boundaries. Teen culture no longer develops on its own. It gets absorbed into the mainstream in real time.

This frustrates me and my creative friends so much. My biggest mission is to contribute to both coming back (even though studios don't seem to understand how to allow writers to create them anymore). I will say the music is happening. Look at Jaydon for example. We need more tho.
HeyTonyTV@TheHeyTonyTV

I just told a friend this early. There’s no space for Teens to be teens anymore. We had teen music, teen choice awards, teen related shows, teen magazine. That era is essential and today is just… overlooked.
