It is 8:57 PM on Monday, June 6th, a St. Louisian has shared their conversation with @AldermanJoe about @LewisReedSTL ‘s indictment on federal bribery charges. Lewis Reed has yet to resign.

We went to Reed's house and told him to resign, we were very clear in our demand. We even offered to help write his resignation letter. Surely, @ReedResignedYet, @LewisReedSTL has resigned?

The time/date is 8:00 PM on Monday, June 6th and “since appearing in court last Thursday, @LewisReedSTL has been working to gain legal clarity on a transition of authority” but he has yet to resign.

The time is 5:44 PM on Monday, June 6th and @LewisReedSTL has yet to resign from the Board of Aldermen despite being indicted on federal bribery charges. 44% of the Board of Aldermen have openly called for his resignation.

Like many St. Louisans, I read with disgust and horror the indictment of three members of the BoA. Serving in elected office is an honor and a privilege and corruption is the ultimate betrayal of public trust. We need a path forward that includes both reform and new leadership.
