تقرير استخباراتي أمريكي تم إرساله إلى الكونغرس الأمريكي يكشف عن الخسائر الأمريكية الهائلة في الحرب مع إيران، والخسائر الكاسحة التي تكبدتها واشنطن خلال المواجهة، سواء على مستوى المال أو السلاح أو الجاهزية العسكرية. وبحسب التقرير، اضطرت الولايات المتحدة إلى استخدام كميات ضخمة من أكثر أسلحتها تطوراً، من بينها صواريخ توماهوك المجنحة، وصواريخ كروز بعيدة المدى، وقنابل جو-أرض موجهة من طراز جي دام، وصواريخ هيلفاير، وذخائر دقيقة الإطلاق من المنصات البحرية والجوية، إلى جانب تشغيل واسع لمنظومات الدفاع الجوي والبحري. كما يشير التقرير إلى استهلاك نحو 50% من مخزون صواريخ ثاد الاعتراضية، وهي من أهم منظومات الدفاع ضد الصواريخ الباليستية، إضافة إلى استنزاف يقارب 80% من مخزون الصواريخ والذخائر الدقيقة المتقدمة، التي تشمل ذخائر بعيدة المدى وصواريخ هجومية عالية الدقة. وتكبدت الولايات المتحدة خسائر مباشرة تقارب 20 مليار دولار في المعدات العسكرية، خاصة في الأنظمة الرادارية، ومنظومات باتريوت، ومراكز القيادة والسيطرة، والبنية التشغيلية داخل قواعد عسكرية مثل قاعدة العديد وغيرها من القواعد الأمريكية في الخليج التي تعرضت لضربات إيرانية. أما الخسائر الإجمالية، فيقدّر التقرير أنها قاربت مئات المليارات من الدولارات، نتيجة إعادة شراء الذخائر، وتسريع الإنتاج العسكري، وإصلاح القواعد، وإعادة نشر القوات، وكلفة العمليات القتالية المستمرة. ويؤكد التقرير أن الحرب أعادت الجيش الأمريكي ما لا يقل عن عشر سنوات إلى الوراء من ناحية مخزونات الصواريخ، والذخائر الذكية، والاستعداد اللوجستي، وهي قدرات كان يفترض إبقاؤها جاهزة لأي مواجهة كبرى مستقبلية مع الصين. كما أشار التقرير إلى أن أكثر من 20 طائرة أمريكية تضررت، من بينها طائرات الإنذار المبكر، وطائرات التزود بالوقود، وطائرات الاستطلاع الإلكتروني، ومنصات الدعم الجوي، سواء عبر إصابات مباشرة أو أضرار تشغيلية أخرجتها من الخدمة مؤقتاً.
