Excited to share our recently published commentary in the Journal of Medical Extended Reality where we detail our journey through the FDA 510(k) clearance process for our AR pre-operative planning application. Check out the full article here: liebertpub.com/doi/epdf/10....

@JNeedem @SavageLucia I respect your opinion about the quality of EHRs but they're not bad because of the legislation. In fact, one can argue the legislation served as the catalyst for the large and rapid increase in investment in digital health.

@SavageLucia Fair correction, I took bill gurley for his word. The broader point being that EHR legislation was on the whole a net negative for everyone, I think still stands.

Prediction: a ton of innovation (and funding) will happen in the hospice space in the next 6 - 12 months One of the biggest cost drivers for ACOs is hospice and almost all struggle with end-of-life planning; lots of improvement possible and a beautiful business model

Biggest learning after selling software to health systems for (only) 3 years: if you want hypergrowth you need to build a product that requires almost 0 change management

@sean_ong @rolandsmeenk We'll see post Apple, but we still mostly say augmented reality. For many people XR is still a confusing term.

@rolandsmeenk XR gained a lot of steam, Unity XR, OpenXR, webXR etc... "mixed reality" faded for a bit, but starting to come back again as passthrough VR starts to increase. For the public, however, everything is still "VR" or "Oculus" lol.

Mixed Reality will become the generally accepted term. Easier to remember and say than Augmented Reality and more descriptive than The Metaverse.

@AlyssaJoyJaffee Why is this a surprise? Non-healthcare investors have been driving DH investment for years.

We often say healthcare isn’t for the faint of heart. When you look back at the crazy 2021 times, the data shows that 40%(❗️❗️❗️) of all digital health deals were funded by first time investors in healthcare. Many of whom later were surprised to learn healthcare is in fact…hard. H/t @Rock_Health for data & @julesyoo for the stat
