@deliharrr Something I think a lot about is that Jax is the only one who seemingly LIKED Caine’s adventures. He didn’t take them seriously, but he had fun with them and even encouraged others (like Zooble) to participate, too.
It’s why I always felt Jax must be Caine’s favorite.

The only feedback that can’t help you is feedback that doesn’t exist.
Thoughts people keep to themselves because they don’t want to look stupid or hurt your feelings.
That silence hurts creators the most. Thumbs down are still a guiding star. Silence is pure darkness.

The ability to refine something useful and actionable out of any piece of player feedback, rather than needing them to meet you halfway before their experience with your work can mean anything to you, is actually an S-tier important skill more creators should work on.

@CursedJames64 I played around with it years ago. Maybe they’ve improved the interface but I just couldn’t get into it back then.
There also already exist RPG Maker plugins to make it 3D, but in that case it’s “2D faking 3D” a la Doom. Always meant to try it out, though.

I don't like complaining that a game "doesn't respect a player's time" because ultimately pacing is an element of art and playing games is an inherently unproductive activity.
So suffice it to say the game's idea of failure states is often more tedious than it is motivating.

I've been playing Mr. Sleepy Man the last few days and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
There's a lot of passion and creativity oozing out of it, but it's a game that wants you to explore and experiment while also (occasionally) harshly punishing failure which is a bizarre mix.

@Kiru_Tigrist What like about this interpretation is that it suggests Gummigoo’s existential crisis wasn’t a glitch. It was something Caine specifically crafted to help Pomni come to terms with the circus and her own feelings about everything being “fake.”

@Smiley_quin That’s my theory, too. Caine hacked the C&A security cameras just so he could get a look at his creators, and even though he didn’t mean anything by it, this freaked them out so much they replaced him.

One thing I feel hasn’t gotten mentioned yet is that is how it seems like Caine got the Mimic treatment.
Those photos of the office were information that wasn’t supposed to be fed to him, leading to him erratically creating things he probably shouldn’t have, and getting replaced.

@Mooshie_blue_ What makes it interesting is that he’s clearly not trying to look scary. We’ve seen what Caine thinks “scary” looks like and this isn’t it.

There’s something so intriguing about Caine’s form here. At this point I kinda expected him to turn into a disgusting, scary, monster version of himself, but I thought it would have a consistent form or something like that,

@474Lyse The way I see it, Caine's issue is that he can only see things like a machine.
Caine's function is to entertain, and in his mind, humans' function is to BE entertained. Caine can't choose to not fulfill his function, but humans can, and that's what drives him to resent them.

He doesn’t love humans, he loves the concept of humans. He needs them to validate him to feel a good host and fulfill his purpose. But need a crowd and love people are different things. If Caine love them, he wouldn’t use their traumas to punish them when he got mad
