One year ago I filed to run in Chesapeake with no infrastructure, no operation, and no guarantee it would work. We built it anyway. This is the real story of what we built and why Virginia needs year-round organizing. 🔗 open.substack.com/pub/rodney4vir…

Biden got smoked over egg prices. Trump done ruined the entire economy in less than a year in office and it’s mostly crickets about it.

Donald Trump says America can't afford daycare or Medicaid. But he's spent $100 million of your money on golf in 15 months. The money is there – he just decided it wasn't for you.

Isn’t it funny how Biden is out among everyday people, and NONE of the people actually meeting him are describing some confused old man? They are describing someone humble, engaged, and fully present. Doesn't match the bullshit media narrative, does it? The press pushed that garbage. The loudmouths amplified it. The weak-minded bought it. And the country paid the price. They should be shamed without mercy. There must be accountability

My friend and Virginia Senator @SenTimKaine said it well: Congress has a responsibility to act. It’s time for my Republican colleagues to answer that call.

.@timkaine demands @LeaderJohnThune call Senate back into session this week, saying Trump's "profane threats on Easter Sunday to commit war crimes against Iranian civilian targets, show an increasing mental and moral instability that cannot be ignored."

Virginians have paid $254 million more at the pump because of Trump’s war of choice in Iran. Working families were already struggling with the rising cost-of-living. Many can’t afford this. I’ll keep doing all I can to end this unnecessary war and lower costs.

Threatening to target power plants and other non-military targets is not strength. If those words become orders to destroy civilian infrastructure with no valid military purpose, it’s hard to see how they would not violate the laws of armed conflict. America leads best with strength, discipline, and professionalism. Illegal orders to make civilians suffer would be a black mark on our military and our country.

🚨Articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth are being introduced by Democrat Rep. Yassamin Ansari as she calls for the 25th Amendment to be used against Trump. More and more elected officials are calling for Trump to be removed. This is good.

Kristen Clarke did not leave the Justice Department quietly. She left, took the general counsel position at the NAACP, marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on Bloody Sunday in March, and then sat down to explain precisely what was done. The cases her division spent years building — carefully constructed voting rights enforcement actions — were "withdrawn from the courts, dismissed without basis, without any justification offered to the public." No explanation. No legal rationale offered. Gone. She documented what replaced the people who built those cases: "reckless, sloppy work." Missing filing deadlines. Typos in court filings. An official who accidentally revealed a federal civil rights probe in a social media post. "Its ranks are now being filled by people who are inexperienced, who don't know what they're doing, who've never enforced federal laws before." The Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department is the unit that enforced the Voting Rights Act, pursued discriminatory redistricting, and brought cases against jurisdictions that systematically blocked minority voters. Clarke calls it "nothing more than a shadow of its former self." She is now general counsel at the organization that will litigate against the department she built. The person who wrote those cases is now the person who will try to bring them back in court. That is not a footnote. That is the next chapter.

NEW: In 2021, Kristen Clarke became the first Black woman to serve as the Department of Justice’s civil rights chief. Five years later, she says the department has “fully retreated from the mission.” democracydocket.com/news-alerts/wa…

CNN poll: Trump now has the worst net approval rating among independents of any president in recorded polling history. 10 points worse than Nixon right before he resigned. Nixon resigned. Trump is at -45 with independents. The coalition that decides American elections has decided.

they love to talk about Mamdani and rent freezes and free childcare. Both were policies Kamala ran on. She also had a housing plan to build 3 million properties, that was called the most aggressive housing plan since FDR. But I guess that’s what “centrist” run on.
