Marshalls slips 1.2% after strong run. 1st half well down and cautious about 2nd half. I think shares will retreat further, could be good time to take profits. If you're thinking of buying I'd hold off for now.

Persimmon 1 of only 6 FTSE100 gainers this morning after encouraging first half. While some caution is required, I feel housebuilding sector has really turned corner. I don't hold Persimmon but I do hold others in sector.

Ouch! Domino's Pizza slumps 6.5%, continues slide so far this year, as 1st half results disappoint. Sales picked up since May so I'm staying in and hoping the worst is over.

Very surprised Bank of England has cut interest rates by quarter point as inflation may rise again later this year. Not surprised it was a 5-4 vote. Feel sure Bank will be cautious for rest of year.

Profits slip as expected at Lloyds Bank so not surprising that shares have fallen 1% after a strong run. I'm happy to hold, especially after divi raised, but wouldn't advise buying at this stage as shares high enough for now.

Strong update from easyJet but is it really worth 5% rise in shares? Airlines face too many problems beyond their control to tempt me to buy.

SThree rises 2.5% because profits have edged up despite fall in revenue. Took action to hold down costs in tougher times. I'm glad I stayed in to enjoy recovery in share price.

Compass up 4.7% on strong trading update. This company is on a roll and could break to new high soon. Well done all those who bought in at lower levels and stay in to reap further rewards.

Burberry down 4%, continues slide that began in April last year. Still too early to be buying in for recovery as luxury goods sales continue to suffer.

Another strong update from Dunelm, profits to be slightly ahead of expectations. Shares up 6.6% to two-and-a-half year high but I'm staying in and enjoying the ride.

Inflation steady at 2%, core inflation stubbornly higher at 3.5%. Very slim chance of rate cut in August has now disappeared.

Profittaking at McBride after strong run over past 12 months but this is a decent update confirming previously upgraded guidance. Shareholders have no reason to worry.
