Through the last several years, Jeffrey Deitch has had a number of high-profile and challenging exhibitions, but for me, this one is the most creative project envisioned by him. This must-see exhibition runs through April 23.

But be brave and come close to the surface to be seduced and delighted by the shiny, jewel-like beads encrusted in the rich painterly texture.

Here in LA, we have a rare chance to pay respect to Édouard Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe (1863). Once exhibited at Salon des Refusés, this painting was criticized for its subject matter and for a deliberate lack of finesse with its brushstrokes.

There is a thought-provoking Philip Guston exhibition at @HauserWirth (NY) His paintings from fifty years ago deliver cultural and political punches. If Philip Guston were still alive today what would he paint in response to today’s political and cultural transgressions...?

Last Summer, #HammerMuseum presented a sprawling solo exhibition by #SarahLucas. And yes, it was full of sex. But, it was well-edited and more diverse than #PaulMcCarthy's exhibition, with sculptures, photographs, and installations brimming with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
