Thanks, @GOTOcon. I enjoyed sharing my thoughts and, more importantly, the audience's feedback indicated they liked hearing them

Over time, #software rots. Unanticipated changes in directions not originally foreseen or obsolescence of dependencies can cause software to rot. What can we do? @S2IL explores ways to gradually improve the technical hygiene of the software you create youtu.be/U3sWzKnMIbk?li…

@KentBeck I suspect when some folks say "I'm not a #TDD person", well-meaning, zealous practitioners respond with something opposite. I addressed this at the end of my book, emphasizing the "means to an end" narrative.

When did TDD become an identity? "I'm not a TDD person"--I heard this the other day. 😕 It's not a genetic disposition, like cilantro tasting like soap. How did this happen? What can we do now?

@KentBeck Thanks! I'm now ready to deploy this argument against #TDD skeptics: "you shouldn't use appeal-to-authority ... @KentBeck told me that!"

I wish folks would think about the tradeoffs & incentives of team coding workflows instead of arguing about who to copy. tidyfirst.substack.com/p/thinking-abo… (P.S. Not a fan of being used for argument from authority. I know too much to trust me.)

"Why you're not using PRs in your project?" "Because we prefer to use CI/CD" "But but..." "Listen, @KentBeck invented CI, @davefarley77 invented CD. They both agree that PRs and feature branches are incompatible with CI/CD. What do you know that they don't?"

Getting ready for my @jconfdev talk. Curious though: all talks are 60 minutes ... why was mine bestowed with the most real estate?! #java #generics

This is a chicken-seller in #Pakistan. Seems he has more political sense than most. ❤ the T-shirt.

With #TDD, we move in the same direction but not necessarily at the same pace. @PaulB5g makes a good point about chap 3 of my book; even though any non-0 value fails the existing test. The goal of TDD isn't to force us to go slow or fast; rather at a pace we find comfortable.
