CPU % usage is really complicated. On Apple Silicon, you could use as little as 27% of the CPU's maximum frequency, yet Activity Monitor will show 100% usage of the core. Why? It all has to do with active residency.

Back to the scanner issue, I'd be frustrated if it delayed me casting my vote but reassured that there's provisions in place to make sure my vote still gets counted. I think sometimes people just like to look for issues where issues don't exist.

A lot of things sound good in concept, but when you sit down and try to figure out the details you'll likely come to the realization that reality is a different story. When it comes to today's election, I'm OK with accurate results over the need to know instantly.

A lot of replies here saying "we need paper ballots!". I wonder if they looked up how it works in Cambria county. All ballots ARE on paper, which is then scanned. The issue wasn't with the paper ballots; it was with the scanners. (pa.gov/en/agencies/vo…)
