I’m a Roman Catholic and a lifelong NYer I’ve never felt more mocked than I did during the last 10+ years Francis was pope. So much so that whenever I watched a mass he led, I lowered my head to avoid looking at him when he was shown on TV. I was offended by him. He was an insult to the church, and to all of us. The mere fact that he was pope was a mockery. I can tell you emphatically, that I am NOT the only person who felt this way.
