We’ve already shared the nepotism rampant in the Mayor’s library trustee appointments. LB1256 puts the power of the library board back in the hands of the voters.
Submit comment in support of LB1256 to the state’s website before noon on Friday, 2/11. nebraskalegislature.gov/bills/view_bil…

Action for library supporters:
On 1/20, @SenMcKinneyLD11 introduced LB1256. This bill requires cities of the Metropolitan Class (i.e. Omaha) to have elected library boards instead of appointed boards.
LB1256 has a hearing in the General Affairs Committee on Feb. 14 at 1:30 pm.

We know last week's announcements were hard, but nothing is set in stone. There’s still a fight to fight.
You have time to add your letter to the 103 pages of opposition to 1401 Jones St. and 3020 S. 84th St.
Omaha deserves #accessible libraries.

3/7 If you can’t attend the meeting, email your comments to your council member and cityclerk@cityofomaha.org to add your opposition on ORD 42858 & 42859. If you’re not sure what to say, here’s a script to get you started: ufile.io/29gd39fs

We agree, prime for a library.
If they're getting a skyscraper how about a library right next door?
Agree? Contact your councilmember and tell them you want a library at 13th & Douglas.

Stothert: We can still develop land just east of the Dale Clark site. That space right there is prime too.
