Being locked out of my email, bank account & Discord has been devastating experience. This hacker has genuinely made this the worst day of my life with little resolution from @discord_support. I'm likely going to lose my server, my community, contact with life-long friends, business partners... everything. 💔 Like I haven't stopped crying. I feel so stupid, tricked, taken advantage of. I want to give up so bad you guys- like it's breaking me down and I don't know if I'll recover from this. 🥺🫂

@Sasajou_ @discord_support You'd think right? I even kept all of my 2FA codes from when I made the account and they said "for my security" they couldn't. Its wild. I've actually had to reformat my pc because the malware is hidden deep in my pc 🥺

Hi! If your email is a gmail, you can recover your email easily if you have a backup or phone number set. I don't know if you're censoring the email because its yours, but if its still linked to your account, all you need to do is get the email back and you can lock out the hacker by simply changing the password and enabling 2FA. I don't know the specifics of your situation, but I can help if you need it!

@chiseledcactus @Toki_Doroki Unfortunately I can't get into the email or the discord. And since discord required you to be logged in to submit a ticket my hands are tied until I can get back into said email. I really appreciate your help and information truly 🙏🏻

So, some steps you should take. 1. Reformat your PC if you did not. You REALLY need to make sure its gone. Reach out to your community on someone tech literate. 2. Change the passwords for your email accounts, and make sure they have 2FA. 3. In your support ticket, give discord any sort of payment information, nitro, servers you were in, messages you sent. If you have friends and DM's, get them to send message IDs of past conversations. But by far, the strongest factor will be any payment info you utilized in the past. Past that, it's going to be a game of patience. My girlfriend had this happen a few years back, it was a full day or two security process on the PC itself. The account took several weeks to get back, and multiple tickets.

This has been on my mind for YEARS growing up. But when I immigrated to America and went to high school, I remember the curriculum covering the Holocaust. I am a German woman, so this was a serious topic for me. There was this girl who was taught BY HER PARENTS that none of that ever happened. 'Something so cruel could never happen. It's propaganda to scare people.' I remember crying because for me, this was the weight of millions of people's suffering, and this girl just threw it out the window like this was a made up myth. I was asked to sit out in the hallway because I was so angry I forgot all of my English and was just shouting in German at her. The reason why I think about this often now, is because it is still happening in different places of the world. There are people right now going through unimaginable cruelty and people just brush it off like it's political propaganda. Remember you are human. Protect your communities, not just your online ones but your friends, your neighbors, your families. 🫂✨️
