Stacey Mullee, STH Specialist Tobacco Treatment Advisor, is in her second year of the Level 6 Public Health Practitioner Apprenticeship. She won Health and Public Service Apprentice of the Year 2025 at the SY Apprenticeship Awards. 🏆 Huge congratulations, Stacey! 🥂

Representing all things apprenticeships and educational funding at the STH Nursing and Midwifery Conference yesterday were the Finance and Business and Healthcare Careers Team. We had lots of productive conversations and raised the profile of the amazing work we do in LED. 💬

We’re excited to announce a new remote placement agreement between STH & the University of Brighton for podiatry students. This opportunity allows students interested in research and quality improvement to work on projects to enhance patient experience, with expert staff support!

STH LED Talks is our new series for all staff in education, training or staff development—replacing the Education Forum. Join us to hear inspiring speakers, share best practice, and stay updated on CPD, events & educational innovation across the Trust.

They have spent the week taking part in induction, a hospital tour and today are learning about basic skills with our Healthcare Support Worker team. We are excited to see their progress over the next few months!

This week we have welcomed our second cohort of Nursing T- Level students from The Sheffield College. The students are with us for just under a year taking part in placements across the Trust.

Last week we celebrated the retirement of a beloved LED colleague Irene Mabbott, who worked in LED for 21 years and qualified as a registered nurse in 1990. Thank you, Irene, for all your hard work and for being a brilliant member of the team. Irene’s legacy will live on!
