My Ss made us an Elf-alotl on the shelf----alotl. Monica is making phenomon themed mischief during our Axolotl (making cells) unit. The Ss spotted the mistake in the DNA can U? #Punnybiojokes #Creativekids #phenomeonmakesitstick

Loved seeing my scientists use their nonfiction text features to complete their investigation of the day! 👨‍🔬👩‍🔬

Tracking sense-making of the phenomenon. Ss generate ❓ which drive our investigations. As we answer our ❓we generate new ones. Anchor charts allow us to see where we have been and where we are going so that we remember our purpose and see the big picture. #NGSS #studentcentered

I used to think the volume of the classroom dictated the quality of the teacher. I now know learning can be loud and can be messy. Loud classrooms aren’t necessarily managed poorly and quiet ones don’t always indicate learning is happening.

We are going to break some misconceptions too ;-)

Assessing prior knowledge can & should inform instruction. Ss were not at consensus on what plants need, so we are conducting experiments to gather the evidence we need to answer our own questions. #NGSS #studentscientists #motivationmonday

We know it takes more than just believing in a child to get them on their path to success, but if we don’t believe it can happen, then it will be a lot less likely to happen. Let’s choose to believe. #Recalibrate.
