Harry Kane is the best version of the Havertz/Merino striker profile, and look how ineffective he was against PSG. Arsenal had Merino up front against them last season and he was equally ineffective. That simply isn’t the right striker profile for that kind of game state. Against a PSG side that presses man-to-man, you bait them into pressing deep, then your CBs find the central carriers — Eze, MLS, and Rice. Then you need a striker with brute force, someone with the pace, power, and strength to bully their CBs and attack the spaces between the centre-backs and fullbacks. That’s exactly where Gyokeres thrives. The same lineup vs Fulham and Atletico second leg beats PSG.

Kvaratshkeilia is fast becoming one of the most overrated players around. The idea that he is even near the level of a Vinicius Jr on the left flank is absurd and completely misses what is actually valuable on a football pitch. Great player but not top 5 itw calibre.
