Modern Ukraine claims it's legacy from the Galicians, who controlled a whopping this much land, half of which is Poland.

WW1 wasn't strictly Germany's fault; all the imperialist countries simply reached a point where they had to fight each other.
Post WW2, the DDR did a lot of good. It's the western( fascist) part that fucked up.
