I'm ngl I get everyone complaining about extra deck rips but a game where playing 10 combo pieces and 5 utility cards in the extra deck is unviable is a better game

@eldanonano My only take is "slop deck" has become such a generalist term that genuine cool combos are suddenly "bad" just because its popular/meta. Just kill most link 1s and high value bridge cards.

Master rule so the extra deck limit becomes 10 and we are also hitting every slop deck. No further hit needed

This card's great. As the game turns more towards turn zero, it being designed to recycle your resources but only for decks that can spam low maintenance bodies is amazing for the health of the game and feels fair. Now to take a big swig of water and confirm it's a quick effect

What’s YGO’s “fourth” format? Genesys, Edison, and Duel Links are pretty clearly the top 3, but I think the 4th is more ambiguous. I feel like the main contenders are probably Trinity, RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royale!!, and Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM, or maybe New-Gi-Oh.

@SungJinWooSOLE @SunseedJess You could both PLAY to meta and point out how meta plays probably isn't good for the games longevity. You go to a tournament to win, not to take moral high grounds.

If you want to be good at a card game you play what wins. Plant was good, I was good at plant, I also really enjoyed it. So I played plant. A lot of ygo players feel they have some weird moral superiority based on what deck they do or don't play. It's really weird and toxic

@t2neZu my simplified view is... Tear mirrors enabled each other leading to engaging back and fourth gameplay. DT/BRDT/fusion in general has a lot of meta game counterplay. AFAIK, the other Extra Decks types havent had anything similar and its always been a rush to lock the other out.

I think the tendency of mirrors is very clear Mirror of two fusion decks: the best, by far, with few exceptions Mirror of two xyz decks: acceptable, can lead to a very nice back and forth too Mirror of two synchro decks: coin flip simulator with open draw triggers going second or die, with few exceptions (Swordsoul for example) Mirror of two link decks: synchro but 10 times worse I would like to put rituals there somewhere too but there were really not much ritual decks in meta; Nekroz, Drytron, Mitsurugi. Anything else? For the reasons, I think it’s rather clear too. The less decks need to setup to start playing, the better is gameplay Fusions can start with literally 1 cards, and they don’t need to go through motions and summon bunch of guys just to get to its own boss monster Xyz decks do have some setup and preparation, but it’s mostly quick and simple Synchro decks… god knows where their setup ends and where they already reached what they wanted, they always spam monsters Link… I don’t think they even want to reach a certain monster, while their extra is glowing they keep spamming

Why did they print this archetype like this? At first we thought it was meant to be support for something but they don't work with shaddolls or enneacrafts (although this one can add wendi and discard for cost from hand??)
