A statue called “The Hug” in Ashbourne by Neil Hawksworth, depicting the traditional Shrovetide football match that has taken place between the “Up ‘ards” and “Down’ards” since at least 1683. I really must go sometime it looks absolutely bonkers.

Ashington Leisure Centre has a decent bronze statue of “Wor” Jackie Milburn, one of Newcastle United’s greatest legends. Created in bronze by sculptor John Mills it was unveiled in 1995 but relocated to its current site in 2017.
